24.01.2022 Hi I'm Connor, I decided in 2012 that I wanted to be a teacher not because I had amazing teachers myself but because I wanted to be that teacher who inspired my students to love learning and love life. Honestly I wasn't an amazing child growing up, I struggled with ASD and ADHD. I had a hard time fitting into school. I even got told to move schools at the age of 5. In school I didn't find support in my teachers and each and every teacher that I connected with quickly left the... schools I was at. Since graduating from ACU in 2017 I have worked in a range of schools; special schools, overseas, private and state schools. Every school I taught at I made sure that my students were happy and every child had a voice. I taught my students that everyone is the same and that learners learn in different ways. I teach so that no student should feel like I did going through school. I teach so students love to come to school instead of dread it. . . #teachersofinstagram #teachersofaustralia #teachersfollowteachers #2020aussieteacherfollowloop #teacherlife #teachersofig #teacherinspiration See more

22.01.2022 Melbourne teachers, you’re not alone! DM us if you’d like to receive a care package from another Aussie teacher. And, DM us if you’d like to send a small gift to a Melbourne teacher. #inthesamestormnotthesameboat #teachersincovidtimes #aussieteacherloop2020 #aussieteacherfollowloop #aussieteachertribe #australianteachers @theworldofmrsdavis

15.01.2022 Hey Teachers of Australia, thanks for watching out for our kids in a time when everyone is watching out for themselves. 13.01.2022 We’re starting a new series, presenting research findings from ToA projects. We hope it is encouraging. And prompting. These findings come from listening to Australian teachers. Big respect. #teachersofaustralia #teachersofinstagram #teach #teachersfollowteachers #teacherlife #teacher #teachersofig #aussieteachers #aussieteachertribe #australianteacher #teachersdownunder #teacherappreciation #teacherinspiration

13.01.2022 Psychological safety is a big deal in workplaces. It is a condition for learning behaviours. A lack of psychological safety means people will keep their innovative ideas to themselves. #teachersofaustralia #aussieteacher #aussieteachers #aussieteachertribe #australianteacher #teachersdownunder #teachersofinstagram #teachersfollowteachers #teacherlife #teachers #aussieed #teacherfollowloop #psychologicalsafety

11.01.2022 Hey everyone, it’s assessment season for many students, so just a reminder. Grades are a measure of where you’re at according to standards at a certain point in time. They establish your current baseline. Where you’re standing now. They don’t measure your potential or your future outcomes. They just show you where you are so you can make a plan for where you want to go. And, they have constraints. You only had a certain amount of time, words, or energy to achieve those grades.... Other things impact grades too, like how many commitments you have, house rules at home (e.g. no internet after a certain time at night), or your past experiences. Grades also have a shelf-life. They expire. If you had the chance to do the test or assignment again, you’d probably do better next time. This because you’ve learnt and grown. All this to say, grades don’t measure your worth. They just measure your performance on the day. #teachersofaustralia #teachersofinstagram #teacherlife #teachersarehuman #teachersfollowteachers #teachersofthegram #aussieteachertribe #aussieteacher #teachersdownunder #2020teachersfollowloop #preserviceteacher See more

It’s been a while since we asked you to tell your stories because we didn’t want to hassle you when you were just keeping your head above water with covid etc. But, we know you’ve got things to say. Important things. Like why teachers matter and why kids need school. Let the flood gates open, time to speak up! To share your story and picture follow the link in our bio to give us permission to post you. The work you do is important. 05.01.2022 Today’s work. Incase it’s helpful. Or a good reminder. We can’t solve all problems, but our compassion and humility can break down barriers. #teachersofaustralia #aussieteacher #aussieteachers #aussieteachertribe #australianteacher #teachersdownunder #teachersofinstagram #teachersfollowteachers #teacherlife #teachers #aussieed #teacherfollowloop

05.01.2022 Aussie Teachers, THANK YOU for being the shade for our kids to sit under in these crazy times. From the bottom of our hearts.

03.01.2022 Time for (re)introductions! The Teachers of Australia project is all about championing the work of teachers by providing a space for teachers to share their stories. It is stories by teachers for teachers. My name is Alison and I work with pre-service teachers at USC. Having been a teacher, and currently working with the next generation of teachers, I know firsthand how vital it is for teachers to be encouraged and supported. Maybe you can be the encouragement someone needs today by sharing your story. Follow this link or check out our bio https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/85LN6V3 to give us permission to showcase you.
