25.01.2022 My grade 2 child is writing information reports at the moment. This involves researching information on the internet. I've found using kiddle best for inquiry activities because it's presented age appropriately.



24.01.2022 The Using Doubles strategy is important for fluency when adding two numbers. The Using Doubling strategy begins with doubling with basic numbers and then can move into decomposing one addend to make a double with the other addend. For example 7 + 8 is the same as 7 + 7 plus 1 more. Double ten frames are great for exploring the strategy. Have students build each addend on a different ten frame.

Phonological awareness is an important and reliable predictor of later reading ability. Examples to promote phonological awareness is rhyming. Today we played this rhyming game.
