15.01.2022 Good morning to absolutely everyone!!! I hope everyone is keeping well and safe. How are your hands, with all the hand washing and sanitiser? To give everyone a reason to smile we are having an EOFY SALE ... We are reducing our fabric prices by a fantastic 30%. (Excluding Liberty and fairy frost). Christmas is only just over 5 months away, and we all know how quickly that time will fly. So to help everyone get started with gifts/Christmas projects we are lowering our fabric prices. There is nothing to get our creative mojo going again like a piece of new fabric,no matter how small. ********Santa will be pleased.********* Debbie,Roxanne and I would also like to thank everyone who has continued to support us through the last few months. We really have appreciated all of the encouragement we have received ,as we have kept our business open during probably one of the most difficult economic periods any of us can remember. The sale is from now until close of business on June 29th 2020. In keeping with government guidelines, our shop is practising social distancing and cleansing as required. We look forward to seeing you soon. Regards, Debbie,Roxanne and Julia.

11.01.2022 The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt by Riel Nason (Author), Byron Eggenschwiler (Illustrator) Ghosts are supposed to be sheets, light as air and able to whirl and... twirl and float and soar. But the little ghost who is a quilt can't whirl or twirl at all, and when he flies, he gets very hot. He doesn't know why he's a quilt. His parents are both sheets, and so are all of his friends. (His great-grandmother was a lace curtain, but that doesn't really help cheer him up.) He feels sad and left out when his friends are zooming around and he can't keep up. But one Halloween, everything changes. The little ghost who was a quilt has an experience that no other ghost could have, an experience that only happens because he's a quilt . . . and he realizes that it's OK to be different.

03.01.2022 "Grandma how do you deal with pain?" "With your hands, dear. When you do it with your mind, the pain hardens even more." With your hands, grandma?"... "Yes, yes. Our hands are the antennas of our soul. When you move them by sewing, cooking, painting, touching the earth or sinking them into the earth, they send signals of caring to the deepest part of you and your soul calms down. This way she doesn't have to send pain anymore to show it. "Are hands really that important?" "Yes my girl. Think of babies: they get to know the world thanks to their touch. When you look at the hands of older people, they tell more about their lives than any other part of the body. Everything that is made by hand, so it is said, is made with the heart because it really is like this: hands and heart are connected. Think of lovers: When their hands touch, they love each other in the most sublime way." "My hands grandma... how long since I used them like that!" "Move them my girl, start creating with them and everything in you will move. The pain will not pass away. But it will be the best masterpiece. And it won't hurt as much anymore, because you managed to embroider your essence. - Elena Barnabé Photo: Martin Harvey
