03.01.2022 It appears gun shops are closing in not only parts of Australia, but in the US as well. California - namely Los Angeles - had shut down gun stores as "non-essential business" only to later reverse the decision. Apparently it is now a decision to be made independently from county to county on whether they are essential and can remain open. The decision here in Australia seems to be made more so for the protection of people - to prevent panic buying of guns and ammunition - but... possibly to also (attempt to) prevent crimes that may occur as a result of doing so. What furthers our interest in all of this, is that if the police are so interested in the protection of the people, as to actually shut down gun shops for the protection of people, perhaps they may be able to have a different view on the idea of a new market of firearms for the every day consumer. Perhaps in the light of current events, a new focus on less-lethal civilian grade firearms will be taken. We'll continue to follow this and keep everyone informed.
