25.01.2022 Great show two weeks ago. I'm sure this weekend won't disappoint either
25.01.2022 The Grand Opening Showdown tomorrow night at the Perth Motorplex will be special in many ways. This year will mark the 60th season the legend and my dad "JA" J...ohnny Anderson will have been involved with the F500 division, his racing career spanning an amazing 50 years from 1956 to 2006. His achievements in racing and his contribution to the division and the drivers is unprecedented. But to top the night off JA will be presented with the Australian Speedway Hall of Fame inductee trophy and will be the Grand Marshall for the event. The ultimate acknowledgement for a lifetime commitment This year will also be my 25th season of racing. While my commitment to speedway has never been as enormous as JA's I have still enjoyed some success over the years and raced at the highest level all over Australia. Born into a family with JA at the head of the table allowed me to experience and learn everything there was to know about F500's from the best teacher and from as early as I can remember I was itching to to get my shot. At age 14 I had my opportunity to drive a F500 at Bibra Lake speedway at the end of season fun day. The following season I was given the reigns of JA's car, he raced summer and I raced winter. In years to come I would build my own cars, build my own motors, drive for other people and create some great memories along the way. I'm proud to say I endured through the "wild old days" where you didn't go buy another part when you busted it you either made it yourself or aligned yourself with someone who could. Strange to say now at 40 years of age I am classed as a veteran. So for 60 consecutive seasons the Andersson name has be represented at a race meeting for F500's. There will be some changes going on with the car and motor package after this weekend that we are hoping will put the Andersson name back in the winners circle at sometime in the near future where it belongs. Look forward to seeing you all at the track Cheers Ando www.motorplex.com.au/grandopeningoctober15/ Team Ando Racing is proudly supported by : Homestyle Salads Janssen Transport Services Pirate Wings

22.01.2022 Well I think this is the definition of "Never Lift"
22.01.2022 You'd never know it but today the legend "JA" Johnny Andersson turns 80!!!! Born in the 40's, JA pioneered the Formula 500 division here along with a group of other people in the 50's, winning state titles in the 60's then also adding national titles ( 74,75,77 )in the 70's, winning countless more blue ribbon events and Claremont feature races in the 80's even led two more national titles only to pull out within sight of the white flag due to mechanical failure, beating inte...rstate competition in the 90's and winning the Motorplex track championship in the 2000's ( Age 63 ) . Young drivers can come and go these days winning it all but most won't realize how tough the competition was back in those days. You didn't just need to know how to steer a car you needed to stay ahead of the game with your car as they evolved hundreds of times compared to today. It also wasn't uncommon for national titles to have over 100 cars entered. The best guys built their own cars, engines, basically everything themselves. If you broke it you made it. If you didn't know how to make it you needed to know someone who could. JA not only built his own car but many other driver's cars and motors also. At a guess I'd say there isn't a single driver in the last 20+ years who can say they won a national title with their own car and engine all hand built themselves in the shed at home. One year JA won the national title and his cars also ran 2nd and 3rd. But even with all his achievements and recognition he still put back into the sport 10 times what he got out of it. He was president of the Perth TQ Car Club for many years, drove the track grader, the water truck, cleaned toilets, repaired everything at the track. No job was out of bounds. In 1987 at Bibra Lake Speedway he started on the front row of the national title and was grading the track the same day. In between his role at Bibra Lake he was still racing, building cars, fixing peoples engines, mentoring drivers and trying to keep as many guys on the track as possible. Still to this day he is the benchmark in WA for anyone trying to be an all time great. For all his achievements he never talks himself up just goes about his business and gets it done. JA still has an ongoing passion for the sport. He still attends all the F500's WA shows as scrutineer and anything else they need him for. Helps the odd guy out with their motors or a bit of machining needed. He'll be out and about again this summer no doubt. JA will be at Kellerberrin Speedway this weekend for the first PTQCC show of the winter season so if you see him say gday and wish him a happy 80th birthday. Cheers Ando See more

16.01.2022 2006/07 King of Wings Night 1 feature race. Back then we were running a 536 Twin Rotax with a CR480 gearbox. This was the last season I ran a two stroke before switching to a four stroke CBR600RR Honda. From memory we went out the next night and belted the wall in the first corner of the first heat. Went from chocolates to boiled lollies as Con Migro would say

12.01.2022 Hi everyone Unfortunately we've cancelled 3 meetings this season due to covid 19 which has interrupted our regular Championships and club days we are hoping to ...make up these meetings later in the year if they can be fitted in. July the 25th is when we're hoping to kick off the season with the committee sitting down this week to decide the new calendar. Thanks everyone for your patience and hopefully see you all on the 25th July
12.01.2022 The crowd for the final night at Claremont Speedway was phenomenal and very vocal. Decent wreck between Alf Barbagallo and Ray Geneve towards the end of the vid
11.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone!! Had a productive few days over the break working on the WA#90 Team Ando XXX. Got all the wiring in the car and welded some new fittings on the radiator yesterday. Got a few more things to do now and it'll be on wheels. Special thanks to Jimmy and Mel Flemming at Asteel Powdercoaters who do a world class job at all times, who better to do your powdercoating than guys who race their own product. I also learnt they can now powdercoat exhausts which is pretty cool. Had the top wings signwritten by John Woolfe at Design Signs prior to assembling them next week. Pretty happy so far with how the car has gone back together and aiming for late Jan/ early Feb to hit the track finally. #teamando #moregreen #teamandocartransport

10.01.2022 Short interview with JA in amongst a heap of other legends
09.01.2022 Finally got time to throw a few parts on the car today. Front and rear axles are now in and a nice shiny set of Factory Kahne shocks installed. We're going to run a different motor package than usual this year. With the help of Stephen Bell giving the motor a belting on the dyno at Jettco Developments and some handy work from JA adapting last years Jettco EFI onto a strong FTZ Honda CBR600RR we are hoping for an edge. We've made a few alterations to the Triple X Fusion that we're hoping will improve the handling also. Been super busy at work moving cars around Perth so not a huge amount of progress of late. Time to pull the finger out and get back out there!! #wa90 #teamando #fkshocks #f500swa #moregreen

04.01.2022 A Double Header Lies Ahead! This weekend will be a huge one for the WA Formula 500 division and the Stainless Fastener Supplies West Coast Series as there will ...be not one but two huge rounds of the series held! Friday night a good field of seventeen cars will head down the highway to the Esperance Speedway for Round Two presented by Corporeal Health, while on Saturday night, twenty drivers have signaled their intentions to compete at the Kalgoorlie Speedway for round three, presented by Freo Group Pty Ltd. Focusing now on the Friday night show at Esperance and one thing that is for certain, is that we will have a new points leader as we leave this weekend. Currently Jamie Pages holds the lead, courtesy of playing his Ace Card at the opening Pithara round, but he has not nominated for this weekend, leaving the door wide open. Cody Turacchio won that opening round, while Steven Ellement was second in the feature after two heat wins, seeing the duo second and third in the series points respectively and separated by just one point. Both will be hungry for a win again this weekend and will be two of the top contenders coming into the show. Other big name contenders include Ryan Higgs, Chris Dymock, Glenn Carstairs and Mark House, all of whom have tasted feature race success before on multiple occasions and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them grab podium finished again this weekend. Todd Broadwood and Gavin Casey are another duo making their first appearances for the season and once they have knocked off some racing rust can also be expected to be right on the pace. Tyler and Steve Carter are again in the field and after getting more and more laps under their belts should score some improved results while others including Ted Street, and Brendon Marshman will be hoping to bounce back after disappointing DNF’s in the opening round. Racing kicks off this Friday night at Esperance Speedway for Round Two, proudly presented by Corporeal Heath, followed the following night by round three, presented by Freo Group Pty Ltd at the Kalgoorlie Speedway! The 2020/21 Stainless Fastener Supplies West Coast Series, proudly presented by Corporeal Health, Alltorque Engineering, Ridgetech Roofing Pty Ltd, Burson Auto Parts Myaree, TRS HD Mechanical, Hedington Motorsports, JC Performance Heads, Three Springs IGA, Pope Racing, Opal Finance, Freo Group Pty Ltd. Release by DTN Media. Pics Courtesy David Hughes. Official Nominations - 17 1 Steven Ellement 3 Chris Dymock 5 Cody Turacchio 7 Ryan Higgs 17 Todd Broadwood 24 Mark House 31 Ted Street 36 Brendon Marshman 46 Jake Pobjoy 49 Glenn Carstairs 75 Tyler Carter 76 Steve Carter Q76 Gavin Casey 81 Jacob Priest 82 Troy Samwell 96 Carl Della 101 Damian Della
