23.01.2022 It was a busy Sunday of racing and ADX Team Members came away with some great performances and results. Over at McLaren Flat is was the Southern Vales CC Club Time Trial Championships. With the weather forecast predicting rain and wind we were lucky the have little of both. With wet roads the riders took on a testing 24.5km course through the Southern Vales Three ADX Team Members came away with Medals.... In the ladies F3 Category Michelle Crick took top spot and a Gold Medal with a time of 44:31 In the Men's M5 Category Steve Bentley took the Silver Medal with a time 37:57. In the Men's M6 Category Graham King also took the Silver Medal with a time of 37:43. Patrick O'Kane finished in 6th place with a time of 44:30. This coming Sunday see the State Time Trial Championships along the same course. Good luck to all ADX Team Members racing. Over at Vic Park, Norwood CC held another of their Winter Crits. In C Grade Nicholas Chabrel forced an early break of 4 riders. After a few laps two dropped back to bunch to leave Nicholas and another rider out on their own. Keith Felix jumped across to another break and despite riding strongly the group failed to get to the lead riders but in turn stayed away form the chasing pack. At the finish Nicholas finished in second place with Keith coming home in 7th place. Leading the bunch home Matt Caldersmith was 9th. Up in the hills, Adelaide Hills MCC held their Club Championship, with Kermesse Road Race and Hill Climb. In F Grade it was a great result for Alison Kent. Alison was first over the line in the Kermesse and then was second placed in the Hill Climb. Overall Alison finished in second place just 5 seconds from first place. #ADX
22.01.2022 With the latest COVID restrictions relaxed it was back to racing and it's been a great week for ADX Team Members. First race off was the Norwood CC Tuesday Night Criterium. In C Grade it was a great result for Nicholas Chabrel who got away with another rider and finished in second place 20 seconds ahead of the chasing group. Nick Underwood finished in 6th place.... On Wednesday evening it was back to Vic Park for the latest round of the SAMCA Summer Series. It was the turn of Cat 1 Teams and it was Craig Ingram finishing in 1st place. Just outside of the top ten was Gary Smith in 11th place and Nicholas Chabrel in 21st place. In the Grades it was a good ride from Mathew Miller in B Grade finishing in 3rd place closely followed by Matt Caldersmith in 4th place. In D Grade Tanya Noble came home in 2nd place and Patrick O'Kane in 3rd. Thursday was TT night over at McLaren Flat with the Southern Vales TT. Fastest on the night was again Steve Bentley with a time of 24:59, closely followed by Stuart Heseltine in a time of 25:10. Patrick O'Kane finished in 28.27 and Tanya Noble finished in 30.23. On Sunday the Southern Vales hosted the Twin Peaks, Paz Russo Memorial Road Race. With climbs of Willunga Hill and Wickhams Hill the race was made more demanding with the windy and wet conditions. It was a great result in B Grade with Dave Dobson taking the KOM up Willunga as well as overall victory. It was a Green Team podium with Steve Bentley in second place and Paul White in third place. 18.01.2022 There was only one race on this weekend but it was a big one with Southern Vales CC hosting the State Time Trial Championships. Conditions weren't the best but better than the forecast of 45km/ph winds. It was still a windy morning in the Southern Vales and despite the forecast there was a good field of riders.... It was a good day for ADX Team Members with a final medal haul of 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze. There was a 50/50 split between the Women & Men. In the Female 40-44 it was Gold for Michelle Crick with a time of 43:00. In the Female 45-49 it was Gold also for Danielle Sage with a time of 42:19. In the Female 55-59 it was Silver for Alison Kent with a time of 47:11 In the Male 45-49 it was Bronze for Keith Felix with a time of 38:01. In the Male 50-54 it was Silver for Steve Bentley with a time of 36:27 In the Male 55-59 it was Bronze for Stuart Heseltine with a time of 36:39. Also in the 55-59 Graham King finished in 5th place with a time of 36:58. Well done to all the Medal Winners. #ADX
17.01.2022 There were 2 races this weekend that ADX Team members took part. Over at Langhorne Creek the Adelaide Hills club held their Langhorne Creek Handicap. It was a great result for Alison Kent. Starting off in a small group towards the start of the race Alison's group caught the group in front and they then managed to stay away from the entire field to finish in 3rd place, some 3 minutes ahead of the next chasing group.... Over at McLaren Flat the Southern Vales CC held a 1 Division Handicap. Colin Chapman just missed out of the prize money finishing in 7th place. There were good solid performances from many ADX team members. Results - 7th Colin Chapman, 12th Patrick O'Kane, 17th Graham King, 37th Matt Caldersmith, 38th Georg Thierry. #ADX
16.01.2022 Lots of racing this week. It started on Tuesday with the Norwood CC Criterium at Vic Park C Grade - 7th Matt Caldersmith, 8th Phil Crick. Wednesday was Crits again at Vic park with the latest round of the SAMCA Summer Crit Series.... This week it was the turn of the Cat 1 Teams. Results - Cat 1 Teams - 5th Craig Ingram, 17th Gary Smith, 24th Tim Decker Grades - B Grade - 9th Keith Felix, 11th Richard Shortt, 14th Georg Thierry, 21st Paul White. C Grade - 8th Phil Pullinger, 13th Colin Chapman, 14th Paul Masters D Grade - 6th Patrick O'Kane, 10th Tanya Noble. Thursday was the turn of the Time Trial with the Southern Vales TT. Fastest time of the night again this week was Steve Bentley with 24:45 and next fastest was David Walker with 25:54. On Saturday it was the latest round of the CSA Super Series. This round was a road criterium at Aldinga. It was a great Team performance from ADX and they came away with the win with Nick Underwood winning the bunch sprint. Results - Masters Cat 2 - 1st Nick Underwood, 30th Phil Crick, 36th Matt Caldersmith, 39th Keith Felix. On Sunday the AMCC held their Dave Rootes Memorial RR. 16.01.2022 With COVID restrictions hitting South Australia this will the the last race update for a couple of weeks. It was another busy week of racing. Wednesday was the latest round of the SAMCA Summer Crit series at Vic Park. This week it was the turn of Cat 1 & Cat 2 Teams. In Cat 1 it was another top 5 finish for Craig Ingram and Gary Smith finished in the top 10.... In Cat 2 Keith Felix and Brad-lee Bennett both finished in the top 10. Results - Cat 1 - 5th Craig Ingram, 10th Gary Smith, 15th Tim Decker. Cat 2 - 7th Keith Felix, 8th Brad-lee Bennett, 12th Matt Caldersmith, 16th Paul White, 26th Mathew Miller. Grades - C Grade - 5th Colin Chapman. D Grade - 4th Patrick O'Kane, 6th Tanya Noble. E Grade - 6th Alison Kent. Thursday evening it was the TT from Southern Vales. In the usual windy conditions, Stuart Heseltine had the fastest time with 25:48 very closely followed by David Walker with the second best time of 25:52. Sunday the Southern Vales held their Club AGM Handicap around the Southern Vales. With a small thunderstorm hitting the area it made interesting racing with Thunder & Lightening around the Vale. Best placing on the day came from Patrick O'Kane finishing in 6th place. This also gained him a couple of extra point to extend his lead in the club's Consistency Award. Results - 6th Patrick O'Kane, 12th Graham King, 13th Dave Dobson, 18th Tanya Noble. At the Outer Harbour Adelaide Masters CC had their Derek Stanley MHC. Best placed rider was Paul White finishing in 6th place, Philip Pullinger finished in 14th place. Rounding off the weekend of racing the AHMCC held there Deviation Road GSR. In G grade it was a great result for Alison Kent finishing in second place. Hopefully we will be back racing in a couple of weeks but in the meantime stay safe. 16.01.2022 It was a busy day of racing with ADX Team Members racing across the Clubs on Sunday. Over at Mclaren Flat the Southern Vales held a Club Handicap. The race was held in the Southern Vales over 50km. It was a great result for ADX with Graham King winning the sprint finish and Steve Bentley finishing in third place.... It was a fast paced race with Graham, Steve and Stuart Heseltine in a group of 6 that managed to keep away from Scratch and catch all groups ahead. It was also a return to racing for both Tanya Noble and Dave Dobson. Both showed a good return to form with Tanya finishing in 12th and Dave in 18th place. Patrick O'Kane continued with his good form and lead in the club consistency award, with a 9th place finish. Colin Chapman finished in 28th place. Over at Outer Harbor, Adelaide Masters CC held their Richard Hicks Memorial Handicap. Best placed in Div1 was Keith Felix in 8th place with Paul White in 17th. In Div 2 Danielle Sage finished in 18th place. Adelaide Hills MCC held their Whites Road GSR. Alison Kent was the only ADX rider in the race and got a good result in F Grade finishing in 3rd place. #ADX
15.01.2022 Just a brief update of the results from the last week of racing. Wednesday night was the latest round of the SAMCA Summer Crit Series at Vic Park. In Cat 2 Teams 4 riders broke away early and despite the teams best efforts the bunch didn't work together to bring them back and ended up lapping the field. In the Grades, Phil Pullinger finished 8th in C Grade and Alison Kent 8th in E Grade.... Thursday evening over at McLaren Flat it was turn of the TTs with Steve Bentley again recording the fastest time with 25:40 and David Walker 3rd fastest with 26:27. There was plenty of racing Sunday, Southern Vales CC held a GSR which included the climb of Willunga Hill. In B Grade there were good performances with Dave Dobson attacking at the base of Willunga and won the KOM at the top convincingly by almost a minute. After a long chase Dave was caught by the chasing group. At the finish Graham King sprinted over the line in first place with Dave in third and Stuart Heseltine 5th. In C Grade David Walker finished in 6th place. In D Grade Patrick O'Kane finished in 7th and Georg Thierry in 8th place. Tanya Noble finished in 7th place in E Grade. Over at Gawler it was the latest round of the Super Series. Round 7 was a Kermesse. Continuing his great form Nick Underwood came home in second place. Phil Crick finished in 29th place. #adx
14.01.2022 Sunday saw both Southern Vales CC and Adelaide Masters CC hold their Club Road Race Championships. It was a good day of racing for ADX Team Members claiming a good haul of medals. Southern Vales CC held their Champs on a testing lumpy course in the Southern Vales. Despite the forecast the morning stayed dry and made for some good racing.... In the Female F3 Category Michelle Crick claimed the Gold Medal. In the Male M6 Category it was Gold for Graham King, winning the bunch sprint after 70kms of racing. Just missing out of a medal in 4th place was Stuart Heseltine and Patrick O'Kane finished in 7th place. Rounding off the medals was Steve Bentley claiming a Bronze Medal in the Male M5 Category. Also over 70kms the race came down to a bunch sprint. In the Male M7 Georg Thierry finished in 7th place. Over at the Outer Harbor, Adelaide Masters CC held their Champs. In the Female F6 Category it was a Gold Medal for Alison Kent. It was a Gold Medal also for Todd Rolton in the Male M3 Category. Rounding off a days racing Paul White claimed a Silver Medal in the Male M4 Category. Well done all and congratulations to all the medal winners. #ADX
11.01.2022 Over at Murray Bridge on Saturday, Cycling South Australia held their State Road Race Championships. Based on a new course that included a stretch of gravel there were mixed results for ADX Team Members. In the Women's Masters 6 Category Alison Kent won the Gold Medal. In the Men's Masters 5 Category Richard Shortt won the Bronze Medal.... On Sunday the Adelaide Hills MCC held their All Clubs Kenton Valley GSR. With a large number of entires D grade was split into 2 groups and ADX had a rider in each. As it turned out Both Danielle Sage and Colin Chapman finished in second place in their respective D Grade. In D1 Colin was only 13 seconds off first place and in D2 Danielle was 20 seconds off first place. #ADX
11.01.2022 Wednesday evening saw the latest round of the AMCC Crit Series. This week it was the turn of the Cat 1 & Cat 2 Teams. In the Cat 2 crit is was a Team win for ADX with Keith Felix winning the bunch sprint. It was a good team effort to get Keith the win and ADX had 4 riders in the top 15. Team Results - Div 1 - 14th Nicholas Chabrel, 16th Craig Ingram, 24th Tim Decker.... Div 2 - 1st Keith Felix, 8th Matt Caldersmith, 11th Phil Crick, 15th Brad-Lee Bennett, 26th Paul White. Grades - C Grade 9th Phil Pullinger D Grade - 4th Patrick O'Kane, 5th Tanya Noble. Thursday evening was the TT over at Southern Vales. Best time of the night again this week was Steve Bentley with a time of 25:17 and second fastest was Graham King with a time of 25:41. On Sunday, Southern Vales held a Handicap though the Southern Vales. In cold and sometimes wet and blustery conditions Michelle Crick was fastest lady. Best placed was David Walker who managed to get a top ten placing in his first race in over 6 months. Results - 10th David Walker, 17th Tanya Noble, 18th Steve Bentley, 20th Dave Dobson, 21st Graham King, 22nd Georg Thierry, 24th Michelle Crick, 27th Phil Pullinger, 28th Patrick O'Kane. Up in the hills, Adelaide Hills MCC held a GSR and Paul White finished in 5th place in A Grade. Also on Sunday Port Adelaide CC hosted the Zero Friction Time Trial. There were good results for Nicholas Chabrel finishing in 6th place and Keith Felix in 16th. #ADX
11.01.2022 There was a full weekend of racing and riding this weekend. On Saturday it was start of the 2020 Cycling SA Super Series. Round One was a criterium at Victoria Park.... In the Cat 3 Women's Support Race Alison Kent finished in 7th place but was awarded most aggressive rider. In the Teams Event, ADX raced in the Men's Masters Cat 2. It was a fast paced race which kept the race together and ended in a bunch sprint. After being boxed in for the sprint Matt Caldersmith was our best placed finisher in 8th place. Results - 8th Matt Caldersmith, 14th Phil Crick, 19th Matt Miller, 21st Richard Short, 32nd Nick Underwood and 50th Nicholas Chabrel. On Sunday Adelaide Masters CC held a GSR at the Outer Harbor. It was a great race for ADX with Todd Rolton first over the line and Keith Felix very close behind in second place. Paul White finished in sixth place. Over at McLaren Flat, Southern Vales CC held their Tonik Handicap Road Race. On a testing course best finisher was Patrick O'Kane who just missed out of a top ten, finishing in 11th place. Stuart Heseltine finished in 29th place. Over at Monarto on Sunday it was the Rockleigh 105. The event is a 105km Gravel ride starting and finishing at Monarto. The event was well organised and was a fantastic route on local gravel roads. 5 team members rode the event and below is a short video from Phil Crick showing how great the route and event was. 10.01.2022 It was rounds 3 & 4 of the CSA Super Series last weekend with a road race at Wallaroo followed by a criterium on Sunday at Moonta. The Saturday race was along the "Hell of the North" which includes 2 long sections of gravel roads over at Wallaroo. In the Masters 2 Category Keith Felix managed to get away in the break and finished in 6th place. Matt Caldersmith and Nicholas Chabrel finished in the chasing bunch. On Sunday the series moved over to Moonta with a Criterium. With ...no one able to get away it finished in a bunch sprint with Matt Caldersmith finishing in 14th and Nicholas Chabrel in 33rd. Next Sunday sees the series moving to Talem Bend motor circuit. Up at Gumeracha it was the SAMCA State Road Race Champoinship. ADX Team Members came away with 5 medals across the age categories. In the Female Categories it was a Gold for Michelle Crick in the F3 Category, and a Silver for Alison Kent in the F6 Category. In the Male Categories there was a Gold for Todd Rolton in the M3 Category. In the M4 Category Paul White missed out on a medal finishing in 4th place. In the M5 it was a Silver for Steve Bentley. As the group got to the top of the last climb Steve was one of 2 riders to get a few seconds gap over the rest of the bunch and in the sprint just missed out on the Gold. In the M6 Category it was also Silver for Graham King. Coming into the last couple of Kms Stuart Heseltine attacked and managed to get a few seconds gap on the chasing bunch. As the group chased up the last climb Stuart was caught just at the crest. The group was split at the top and Graham King was in front but was unable to hold on for the win and finished with a Silver medal. It was a good days racing with good performances and results. 10.01.2022 It was an excellent day at Victoria Park on Sunday with the latest CSA Winter Crit. It was a welcome return to his winning ways for Keith Felix. Racing in C Grade he was first over the line in the big bunch sprint. Also in C grade Matt Caldersmith finished in 7th place. In the Women's C Grade it was a podium for Alison Kent who finished in 3rd place. In B grade there were good performances from Richard Shortt in 10th place and Daniel Key in 23rd place.... Over at McLaren Flat Southern Vales CC held the last of their 3 race KOM series. Going into the last race there were 3 people in the running for the overall series win. One of those was our newest team member Danielle Sage. The last race had the finish at the top of Willunga Hill. Riding in D Grade Danielle rode strongly to stay in the big group. Early on a group of 3, including team mate Colin Chapman formed a break and after the 5 lap circuit headed to Willunga with close to a minute lead. Chasing the break Danielle was the fastest in the grade up the hill and managed to pull back all bar one of the break to finish in second place 13 second behind. Following in 3rd place was Colin Chapman, Patrick O'Kane finished in 11th place. In B grade Steve Bentley finished in 6th place and Stuart Heseltine in 7th place. This weekend see the CSA State Road Race Championship over at Murray Bridge, good luck to all ADX Team Members riding in the Championships. #ADX
05.01.2022 Club Championship Time Trialing continued again this weekend with the Adelaide Masters CC holding their Club Championships at the Outer Harbour. There were Gold Medals for Todd Rolton and Keith Felix. In the Mens 40-44 Category Todd Rolton took the Gold with a time of 25:19 and in the Mens 45-49 Category Keith Felix took Gold too with a time of 25:12.... Over at McLaren Flat the Southern Vales CC held their Combined Fathers Day GSR with the Adelaide Hills. There was a win for Graham King in B Grade with Matt Caldersmith finishing in 5th place and Richard Shortt in 7th. In C Grade Colin Chapman finished in 9th. In D Grade Georg Thierry finished in 3rd place and Patrick O'Kane finished in 9th. #ADX
03.01.2022 It was a very busy week of racing with ADX Team Members taking part in various races throughout the week. It started off on Tuesday with Norwood CC Crits. In C Grade Phil Crick just missed out on a podium place finishing 4th the the bunch sprint. Finishing with the same time and bunch was Nicholas Chabrel and Nik Underwood.... After last weeks cancellation due to the weather, it was the first of the Adelaide Masters Criterium Series on Wednesday evening. It was a great result for Matt Caldersmith in B grade finishing in first place. Matthew Miller finished in 15th and Paul White in 20th place. In D grade it was a welcome return to racing for Phil Pullinger after his injury, with a second place finish. Patrick O'Kane finished in 6th place and Tanya Noble in 10th. In E Grade Alison Kent was 4th. On Thursday it was the turn of the time trial with the return of the Southern Vales Evening TTs. Despite wintery conditions best time of the night came from Steve Bentley with a time of 25:31. Sunday over at McLaren Flat, Southern Vales held their club GSR. With a race that included the 3km climb of Wickhams Hill it was a welcome return of form for Dave Dobson in A Grade. Forcing the pace on Wickhams he was in a break going over the top. With small chasing group they stayed away until the finish and Dave finished in 3rd place. Graham King finished in 5th place. In C Grade Colin Chapman and Patrick O'Kane finished in 4th and 5th place. Over in E Grade Tanya Noble finished in 5th place. Also on Sunday it was the next round of the CSA Super Series. Round 5 was at The Bend Motor Circuit at Talem Bend. The race was a 61km Kermesse and despite a few attacks stayed together for a bunch sprint. Best placed was Keith Felix in 12th, Matt Caldersmith in 14th, Nicholas Chabrel in 19th, Phil Crick in 37th and Nick Underwood in 46th. #ADX
03.01.2022 On Friday evening the Southern Vales CC Summer Time Trial Presentation night took place. Originally due to be in April after the series finished, it was delayed due to COVID restrictions. After a 3 month delay the event took place at McLaren Vale. It was a good series for ADX Team Members, and even better for both Steve Bentley & Stuart Heseltine, who came away with trophies. Overall winner of the series was Steve Bentley and most improved rider was Stuart Heseltine. In the 1...8 week series only 4 people got under 25 minutes for the 16.8km course around McLaren Flat. 3 of those were ADX Team Members with Stuart Heseltine, Graham King and Steve Bentley all having fastest times within 10 seconds. On Sunday Southern Vales CC held the second of their KOM Series. This time it was a hill top finish up Wickhams Hill. The results of the day came in D Grade with Patrick O'Kane finishing in second place and closely followed by Colin Chapman in 3rd place. They were both beaten by new team member Danielle Sage. Michelle Crick finished in 5th place 13 seconds down. Results - B Grade - 6th Steve Bentley, 7th Stuart Heseltine, 10th Graham King. C Grade - 12th Vin Kelly D Grade - 1st Danielle Sage, 2nd Patrick O'Kane, 3rd Colin Chapman, 5th Michelle Crick. #ADX
