23.01.2022 Here’s a delicious scone recipe that will make your mouth water.... Pumpkin spice scones: 2 cups S/R flour... 1 tbsp soft brown sugar or 1/4 cup sugarfree maple syrup Pinch of salt 60g chopped butter or coconut oil (melted) 1/2 cup buttermilk or milk alternative 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg 300g cooked, mashed pumpkin with 1 tsp ground ginger Preheat oven to 220 degrees or 200 fan forced. Line baking tray with baking paper. Place oven rack in top half of oven. Sift flour, nutmeg, sugar (if using) and salt into a bowl. Add butter (if using) and rub with tips of fingers till mixture resembles bread crumbs (or add coconut oil and mix till mister resembles shaggy dough). Add buttermilk/milk alternative, maple syrup (if using) and pumpkin. Using a flat blades knife, stir well until a sticky dough forms. Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead gently until just smooth. Gently roll dough out until 2cm thick. Using a cookie cutter or drinking glass, cut out scones. Place scones, just touching, on tray. Bake 12-15min Enjoy

21.01.2022 Here is a little shopping guide for anyone who was thinking about going dairy free and or lowering their intake of dairy - unfortunately dairy isn’t for everyone - and a lot of symptoms such as bloating, constipation or gastric issues, skin conditions and inflammatory diseases can be from dairy ! It’s always best to consult your naturopath or dietitian before changing the diet dramatically but it’s also doesn’t hurt to add in other foods to your diet for added nutrition and... removing saturated fats ! Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and keep their fitness and diets in check

16.01.2022 VIC Active is working hard behind the scenes to get your clubs open. Gyms are safe. It’s time to open up. Sign & Share As I and the Vic Active team said a week ...ago VIC Active represents a cohort of industry professionals, government relations and policy advocates and senior medical advisors who are campaigning passionately and professionally to classify fitness as an essential service for our community. Fitness facilities are LOW RISK, HIGH IMPACT! RISK is mitigated by clear and concise COVID-19 safe plans. Strict hygiene and sanitary protocols implemented by fitness facilities are superior to those currently implemented by operational businesses such as supermarkets and bottle shops. The New South Wales experience proves the point with over 7.3 million check-ins at gyms over 8 weeks post lockdown; ZERO cases linked to gyms. Reports of 5 recent cases have not yet been confirmed as facility transmissions. The positive IMPACT on the physical and mental wellbeing of the broader community is immeasurable. Share and sign.. 10.01.2022 Self care is any activity that we do deliberately in order to take care of our mental, emotional and physical health. It can be as simple as waking up, greeting the sun and telling yourself this is YOUR day!!! 5 ways to get started with your self care:... 1) SLEEP - Sleep can have a huge effect on how you feel both emotionally and physically. 2) GUT - Eat right and take care of your gut. Your gut can have a significant impact on your health. 3) TAKE A BREAK - Go out for a walk. Spending time outside can help reduce stress, lower blood pressure and reduce fatigue. 4) LEARNING TO SAY NO - This can be difficult, as you often feel obliged to say yes when you’re asked for your time and energy. Always check in with you first, are you stressed or over worked? If so practice politely saying no. 5) EXERCISE - One of the most important self care routines that often gets overlooked. Exercise not only helps you look better, but the impact it has on your physical and mental health is considerable.

08.01.2022 Progressive Muscle Relaxation Steps Find a quiet place free from distractions. Lie on the floor or recline in a chair, loosen any tight clothing, and remove glasses or contacts. ... Rest your hands in your lap or on the arms of the chair. Take a few slow even breaths. If you have not already, spend a few minutes practicing diaphragmatic breathing. Now, focus your attention on the following areas, being careful to leave the rest of your body relaxed. 1. Forehead: Squeeze the muscles in your forehead, holding for 15 seconds. Feel the muscles becoming tighter and tenser. Then, slowly release the tension in your forehead while counting for 30 seconds. Notice the difference in how your muscles feel as you relax. Continue to release the tension until your forehead feels completely relaxed. Breathe slowly and evenly. 2. Jaw: Tense the muscles in your jaw, holding for 15 seconds. Then release the tension slowly while counting for 30 seconds. Notice the feeling of relaxation and continue to breathe slowly and evenly. 3. Neck and shoulders: Increase tension in your neck and shoulders by raising your shoulders up toward your ears and hold for 15 seconds. Slowly release the tension as you count for 30 seconds. Notice the tension melting away. 4. Arms and hands: Slowly draw both hands into fists. Pull your fists into your chest and hold for 15 seconds, squeezing as tight as you can. Then slowly release while you count for 30 seconds. Notice the feeling of relaxation. 5. Buttocks: Slowly increase tension in your buttocks over 15 seconds. Then, slowly release the tension over 30 seconds. Notice the tension melting away. Continue to breathe slowly and evenly. 6. Legs: Slowly increase the tension in your quadriceps and calves over 15 seconds. Squeeze the muscles as hard as you can. Then gently release the tension over 30 seconds. Notice the tension melting away and the feeling of relaxation that is left. 7. Feet: Slowly increase the tension in your feet and toes. Tighten the muscles as much as you can. Then slowly release the tension while you count for 30 seconds. Notice all the tension melting away. Continue breathing slowly and evenly. Enjoy the feeling of relaxation sweeping through your body. Continue to breathe slowly and evenly.

Here is a little reason why - and how to fix - please be advised that certain supplements like Mg needs to be used in caution with individuals who suffer from high blood pressure - and if your someone who just pops a laxative - please note that these change your whole gut bacteria and also affect your sodium balance in your body causing other not so nice results - hope everyone is safe and happy !
