24.01.2022 James Sherriff Why have you put your hand up to join the 2019 Gibb Challenge? The Leadership Team kindly raised my hand for me.... What can you bring to the experience? Hopefully a sense of humour and some fun, these two aspects may however end abruptly after the first cycle period. What are you like on a bike? How is your training preparations going? Absolutely terrible, and hmmmm, what training? Never been in Lycra before so that in itself will be a challenge. Do you know what you are in for? What are your expectations? Have no idea, and a great deal of pain that will take me months to recover How do you see yourself performing? Well, how I see myself performing and how I actually will be are going to be very different. I do see myself performing incredibly well for the first 5 minutes. How long have you been with RFDS? 4 months

24.01.2022 TEAM RFDS 2019 Drazen Tolic Why have you put your hand up to join the 2019 Gibb Challenge?... I was coerced by senior work colleagues posing as athletes, giving me a false sense of confidence in my physical abilities!! Cant pull out now Im told. What can you bring to the experience? Tiger Balm, Deep Heat, Panadol, Aspirin, Nurofen, Panadeine Forte and a helmet!! What are you like on a bike? How is your training preparations going? Somewhere between Mr Bean and a toddler on a trike! A modest Mediterranean diet will hopefully keep me in the peak condition Im in, thinking positive. Do you know what you are in for? What are your expectations? Apparently the catering!! Someone mentioned the food is amazing. How do you see yourself performing? I intend to lead from the start, keep pace with Andrew Davies, power on through the middle stages, with a strong finish in the top 3 then wake up from a dream! I hope not to need an evacuation by a PC12! How long have you been with RFDS? 2 wonderful years.

20.01.2022 Here is a bit about our Pilot Andrew Davies who is riding Gibb as a Soloist Why have you put your hand up to join the 2019 Gibb Challenge? I am passionate about bike riding and working for the RFDS, so riding the Challenge seems a perfect fit.... What can you bring to the experience? What can I say, riding the Challenge solo has a certain amount of lunacy. Need I say more? What are you like on a bike? How is your training preparations going? I mainly ride a road bike so I am still getting use to the MTB. Completely different experience but looking forward to it. Training is going well so far, its about to get even more crazy next month. Do you know what you are in for? What are your expectations? Yes and no. Yes - it will be tough, no - to how tough. But it should be a memorable experience. How do you see yourself performing? If I do the training hopefully enough to finish, but you never know what surprises may happen. How long have you been with RFDS? Since 2003.

11.01.2022 Sarah Major Why have you put your hand up to join the 2019 Gibb Challenge? I love a challenge cycling in desert heat, camping under the stars, saddle soreness whats not to like? And its for a great cause.... What can you bring to the experience? I do like to giggle. I can find the humour in most things - the more ridiculous the situation the more Im enjoying myself. Perfect for this I think! ;-) Also I started learning the ukulele last year, but I promise not to bring that as Im still appalling at it. What are you like on a bike? How is your training preparations going? Im like an overly excited Tortoise love to ride! But Im uncoordinated and pretty slow. Training?? I will start that any day now. Do you know what you are in for? What are your expectations? Not really, should I maybe have asked before I signed up!! I expect it to be tough, but hopefully sharing it with a great group of people

We are bringing along our team from 2019 and will welcome another RFDS team consisting of a couple of flight nurses, a pilot and an engineer. 06.01.2022 Andrew Thelander Why have you put your hand up to join the 2019 Gibb Challenge? I love the Kimberley, mountain bike riding and adventures so it was a no-brainer! I bring an accident-prone sense of danger that everyone will reflect on fondly in years to come.... What can you bring to the experience? Im okay on a bike but have fallen off a cliff on a mountain bike before and am not unfamiliar with the odd spill. What are you like on a bike? How is your training preparations going? Training at the moment for the Broome marathon as well so hopefully fitness will be ok, but we shall see. Do you know what you are in for? What are your expectations? Do I know what Im in for? Does anyone ever? No, not really but Im sure it will be fun either way! Im hoping for hard riding, beautiful scenery and good times with my fellow riders. How do you see yourself performing? I think it will be harder than expected but that we will all band together to make it work.
