18.01.2022 So 2020 is proving to be a first for many things - for the first time in history, TGSS may well be held on an odd year, and it seems that even the Olympic Games... are following suit! Jokes aside - as we said in our previous post, TGSS will no longer be held in 2020. Our Ops Crew met virtually this week, and our aim at this stage is to postpone to the June long weekend of 2021. This seems like a world away right now, but with the uncertainty of this virus and the length of the measures we’re currently seeing, the financial impact that this will have on individuals, as well as the potentially full seasons that leagues are going to miss, we think this is the most viable option moving forward. Our aim is to be able to bring everyone together, to be able to give each other big sweaty consensual derby hugs, and to celebrate derby, us coming together, and to overcoming 2020. We want leagues to ultimately be in a strong and stable position by the time this rolls around. An email will be sent shortly from our tournament email to leagues requesting bank details for registration fee refunds. Officials, this email will come from our officials email. TGSS Ops will be monitoring the situation in the coming months and will be looking to update you all on our 2021 goal as the year progresses. We will aim to send a new EOI out, first to all leagues and officials that registered for TGSS 2020, and then to the wider region. All of this is dependent on what the next six month brings our way, but this is our plan moving forward. We want to send out our enormous love and gratitude to all of you who support TGSS, and who sent us kind words of support after our initial postponement announcement. 15.01.2022 Tonight would have been the night that we’d be preparing the tracks, setting up the stalls, registering skaters and officials from all over the world and gettin...g those nervous jitters prior to the beginning of TGSS tomorrow. We’re so sad that we can’t all be coming together to do battle with skate and booty. Instead, across the weekend we’ll be posting flashbacks from TGSSs gone by. We hope you can reminisce with us while you get excited for what is (hopefully) going to be an amazing TGSS 2021!
