25.01.2022 Around two and a half weeks ago, on the 22nd October, we had our second club contest night, which proved to be another amazing event! The night kicked off with the International Contest, which saw Steve Kaftan take 1st place, followed by Mark Newman who finished in 2nd place, and Peter Frazer in 3rd. After the supper break, it was the Table Topics Contest, which saw a great total of five contestants competing in the event. The quality of the competition was very high with som...e excellent responses. But it was Dom Iallegio who came out on top, claiming 1st place. He was followed by Rob Whaite who finished in 2nd, and Peter Frazer in 3rd. It was a wonderful night overall! A big thanks to our guests from other clubs for coming and helping out with the officiating, and thanks to our members who provided a fantastic variety of food for the supper break and made the night an absolute success. The top two from each contest will represent TTG at the Area Contest which will happen next Saturday via Zoom. To all our members taking part, we wish you all the very best and we'll all be behind you, cheering you on! Now that the club contests have come to an end, our club meetings are back on once again! This coming Thursday at 7pm, we will have our two newest members, Sourav and Maleen, deliver their first speeches which will be exciting! We will also have a few other fun segments in the mix that everyone will enjoy. So, if you are curious to know what Toastmasters is all about and see how we can help improve your public speaking and communication skills, we welcome you to join us as a guest this Thursday night at the Jubilee! Please feel free to message us if you are interested in coming along or would like any further info about our club. We're more than happy to assist.
17.01.2022 Hi everyone, hope you are all keeping well and staying safe. It has been decided that we will not be having our final club meeting of the year this coming Thursday due to the current COVID restrictions. However, we will get back into the swing of things on Thursday 14th January for our first meeting of 2021!... Thank you to all of our members for making each and every meeting fun and enjoyable for everyone, despite what has been happening all around us. Fantastic speeches, entertaining activities, awesome contests; we have turned this year into another great success. Well done to all of you! Let's keep it up and hope things will continue to get better and better next year. To our guests who have come and visited us this year, thank you once again for your visit. It is always wonderful to meet with guests, whether they are a member of another club, or someone just curious to see what we do. Please know that we are still here to help with your communication and leadership skills while having some fun in the process, and we welcome everyone to come along. Hope to see you at one of our meetings in the new year! We wish you all a wonderful and safe festive period ahead, and all the very best for 2021!
15.01.2022 Hi everyone, hope you all had a great weekend! We are edging closer towards our second club contest night! Come along to the Jubilee this Thursday night at 7pm as our members compete in the Table Topics and International contests, for a spot in next month's Area contests. It'll sure to be another wonderful night of great speeches, terrific food and awesome entertainment, so make sure you head on down and get in on the fun. Look forward to seeing you then!
14.01.2022 Another great meeting last night, we had our newest member, Hnin, give her first speech - Well done! Look forward to our next meeting on the 23rd of July!
12.01.2022 Last night, we had our penultimate club meeting for the year after a wild month of holding club contests. It was not only a terrific night but it was also a very special one. It was a momentous occasion for our two newest members, Sourav Dey Roy and Maleen Dissanayake, who were officially inducted into the club by Anthony Murray, our VPM. Soon after, they began their Pathways journey with delivering their first 'Ice Breaker' speeches, which were amazing! They capped it off wi...th bringing home a few awards; Sourav winning both Best Speaker and Best Table Topics Speaker of the night, and Maleen winning the Best Prepared Presenter of the night. Well done guys and once again, welcome to the 'family'! The night also saw Mark Newman, our President, receiving both the Best Speaker and Best Prepared Presenter awards for 2019-20 during a special award presentation, after he was unable to come to the TTG Toastmaster of the Year Awards Night held earlier this year to accept them. Mark was also given the Triple Crown pin, after completing three awards from the old educational system in the previous Toastmaster year. Congratulations Mark on this wonderful achievement! Tomorrow, some of our members will be waving the flag for TTG as they take part in the Area Contests, which will all happen via Zoom for the very first time. Wishing you guys all the very best and hope that it all goes well! We are all behind you!

For a night of great competition and some good all-round fun, come on down to the Jubilee this coming Thursday for a 7pm start. It'll sure to be an awesome night!
06.01.2022 Another great meeting last night! We had an educational workshop on improving your public speaking with 3 simple tips. This was followed by two excellent speeches including one from our newest member Rob. Well done to all, look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting on the 13th of August!
04.01.2022 Hi everyone! Happy New Year to all of you! Hope you had a wonderful festive season. The new year brings about change to our club. We will now have our meetings every 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month, rather than the Thursdays we have had for a number of years. But we will still continue to have meetings that are fun and educational, done the good old TTG way!... The start of the new year may also be a great time to work on those New Year's resolutions. Looking to get that all important speech down pat? Looking to improve your communication with others? Looking to create new social connections? Let us help you make that happen. Our first club meeting for 2021 will be on Tuesday 12th January 7pm at the Jubilee, so if you are interested, please feel free to come along and see what we're all about. We hope to see you then!
01.01.2022 Last Thursday night, we kicked off our contest season with the Evaluation and Humorous contests. The night didn't disappoint with some great speeches by the contestants and wonderful hospitality enjoyed by many members and guests who came along. In the Evaluation contest, we saw current club Toastmaster of the Year, Steve Kaftan, take out 1st place, followed by Rob Whaite in 2nd and Peter Frazer in 3rd. While in the Humorous contest, one of our newest members, Hnin Souza, cla...imed top honours, followed by Mark Newman who came in 2nd. The top two contestants from each contest will go through and represent TTG at the Area Contests to be held online on Saturday 14th November. Well done to the contestants who participated and congratulations to the winners! The fun continues once again on Thursday 22nd October with another round of contests. We will be holding the Table Topics Contest as well as the "blue-ribbon" International Contest, which should be a cracker! Be sure to head on down to the Jubilee for another night of great entertainment. Further details about the contest night will be posted in the coming days, so stay tuned.
