25.01.2022 A freshly mixed batch of hemp/lime being checked for quality by feeling for the right texture.
19.01.2022 Staying in this little town Yangan pop. 386. A farming community and the clouds are gathering. Be nice to see some rain to set the new winter cross in. 5 to 10mm expected on Thursday.

16.01.2022 Heres a slideshow of TEC Hempcretes first job. Couldnt have worked with a better crew from Overland Sustainable Design and Construct. Very professional outfit and not having worked with hemp/lime before took it up like old hands. A big thank you for a bunch of photos supplied by Overland as we had finished before most of the formwork was removed. Looking forward to going back soon to see the progress.
13.01.2022 Ok folks is been awhile since youve heard from Techempcrete but we are back mixing hemp and lime, hip hop hooray. Weve gone west this time around, out to a small town 15min out of Warrick. Were building a four bedroom home with 300mm external walls and 250mm internal walls. It gets down below zero here through the winter often and feels the full brunt of summer. The house will be off grid without any heating our cooling systems, this is where hempcrete stands out providing an ideal living environment even in the harshest conditions without any energy intensive additions. Ill keep you posted with progress along the way but heres a few pics of the first few days. Some great progress with the first walls being revealed. Enjoy life keep safe and build with techempcrete.
11.01.2022 Week 3 is completed. Were over the halfway mark now and have made some great progress. South side front entrance complete, bedroom 1 and 2 complete, south side of halfway complete, kitchen pantry complete plus the south side exterior almost done. Made good progress on the master bedroom internal wall. The job is really starting to take shape now, weve had a few hurdles along the way with machine damage and one of our team members from Amber Constructions having a motor bike accident. But we adjust and push on and delivering some great progress revealing some amazing hemp lime walls that are curing nicely. #hempcrete #sustainablebuilding #hemp #lowtox #naturalbuilding #hempcretebuilder
10.01.2022 This is the first project by TEC Hempcrete, working with the Overland Construction team in the Noosa hinterland. The renderers have done a great job giving the protective exterior coating the hempcrete needs in the harsh Australian conditions. This also adds to the fire protectio #hempcrete #hemplimerender #hemp #sustainable #sustainablebuildings
10.01.2022 This is the magic ingredients folks. Australian grown hemp and Australias own binder made by The Australian Hemp Masonry Company. AHMC have been the pioneers in developing the industry for over 20yrs here in OZ. It is the only binder that is made right here on our shores which makes it TEC Hemps first choice over imported products. #hempcrete #sustainablebuilding #mouldresistant #pestresistant #fireresistant #naturalbuilding
09.01.2022 This is our 360lt Imer mixer to do all the hard work of mixing the hemp and lime.

05.01.2022 The data on hempcrete is showing that it has great value as a building product. Being FIREPROOF is a big one.
04.01.2022 This page is about building with Hemp and the benefits it has for the occupants and our environment. TEC Hempcrete can provide services to help you build, extend or renovate your home or commercial space with this quality product. What Is Hempcrete?... Hempcrete is mixture of small hemp fibres from the inner core of the plant mixed with a lime based binder and water which is then formed into place by hand to create a beautiful warm textured walling system. This natural walling system replaces your brickwork, insulation and gyprock and has truly amazing properties. It stands out from the crowd for all its attributes to provide a healthy comfortable and truly sustainable building product without the need of constant mechanical intervention. Here are a some benefits of building your home with hempcrete. Mould Resistant: Due to the breathability of the wall by regulating internal humidity and temperature it greatly reduces moisture build up thus reducing the chance for mould growth. Pest Resistant: Lime is the hero here with its high alkalinity it protects the structure from attack. Anti-Fungal and Anti-Microbial: Due to the breathability of hempcrete it will purify the air as it passes through the hemp/lime wall providing a naturally healthy space. Thermally Dynamic: Hempcrete has the ability to self-regulate internal thermal and humidity variations through the breathability of the wall. It buffers temperature variations through the day/night interchange which allows the ability to maintain a comfortable internal living temperature. The porosity of hempcrete acoustically has great sound absorption dramatically reducing noise pollution for the occupants. Fire Resistant: The high alkalinity of lime helps protect the structure from fire. Lime is non combustible which protects the coated hemp fibres and structure from ignition. Non-Toxic: A hempcrete wall emits zero VOCs unlike so many building products used to create a home. Carbon Positive: Hempcrete has a low embodied energy makeup. It absorbs more carbon from the atmosphere than it adds. The growing of hemp offsets the production of the lime binder, plus once placed in the wall it will gradually sequester more carbon from the atmosphere over the buildings lifetime. Thank you for having a read through, I hope i have sparked an interest about hemp as a building product. If you would like to follow my progress please do and contact me if you would like to explore building with hemp further.
