25.01.2022 Our client asked if we could design a rack that would fit onto his car tow bar to carry his mobility aid, and still allow access to the boot and this is the result! Another practical #customised solution and #happy client.
24.01.2022 We were very excited to participate in the Impact100 South Australia Gala Awards grant evening. Heres a snippet of what a wonderful event it was. Congrats to all the finalists.
24.01.2022 Free electric King Single bed. Our Volunteer is moving and has a King Single bed in good condition except that the foot of the bed doesn’t elevate any more. LIkely that it probably only needs an adjustment. The mattress is memory foam with a washable cover and is in excellent condition except that it’s zip has come adrift and has been hand sewn back on again. If you would like to know more please message for the owners contact details. She reminds us that it is heavy and will need some strong people to move it to it's new home. #Kingsize #Electricbed #2ndhand
21.01.2022 This #allterrain walker modification makes the task of traversing the garden and grounds more safely and easily. Another #happycustomer at #TADSA
21.01.2022 Do you have time to spare and skills to share? We are looking for people to join TADSA's team of volunteers to help solve the challenges people with disabilities and age-related problems experience by designing and tailor making or modifying devices which are not readily available. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pWWPEG7U28 TADSA technical volunteers are not kept busy all the time, some are called upon often to do a project whereas others may be called upon rarely. TADSA d...oes not have a workshop, so our technical volunteers need to have access to a work area which has tools & equipment where they can make or modify the required devices. Most of our Technical volunteers have their own sheds & equipment, whereas others have access to Men’s Sheds or other communal workshops. Each of our volunteers have skills in at least one (1) or more of the following disciplines - woodwork, metalwork, electronics, plastics, mechanics and some are just good handy people. Out of pocket expenses relating to a project are reimbursed, meaning that no volunteer will be out of pocket. Click the video below to learn more about TADSA and how Volunteers are helping people live their best life! You don't have to live nearby, we are looking for technical volunteers right across Adelaide and in Country SA, and currently we have a particular need in the southern districts to fill the shoes of two retiring TADSA volunteers. If you would like to know more please call Ralph Drage, Project Manager 8261 2922 or email [email protected]. See more

13.01.2022 Use your qualifications, skills and experience to assist South Australians with disabilities and the aged. The TADSA Board is skills based and inclusive and applications are sought from individuals who are forward thinking and motivated and have the requisite skills and experience to join our Board to complement the experience, skills and networks of the existing members. https://tadsa.org.au/interested-in-getting-on-board/
10.01.2022 Guide-dog Simulator Through a request made by Guide Dogs SA/NT, TADSA volunteers crafted this dog simulator as a prototype for children so they could train with it before starting work with a real dog. Fitted with a comfortable harness, this simulator includes a leather handle that the client will hold onto, while a trainer will push and steer the dog from behind. It has proven to be a winning streak for children and can be extended as a ‘practice’ devise for adults too.

10.01.2022 We love working to support the customisation needs of our good friends Jump In Support Options. Taking an idea, working up a design and turning it into #reality. Another practical solution made by #TADSA #volunteers. #innovation for independence.
09.01.2022 The observance of #IDPD aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. TADSA is proud to have been fostering #access #opportunity, and awareness, since 1978.
09.01.2022 Congratulations JusticeNet SA and Cottages 4 Country Care on taking out Impact100 South Australia 2020 $100K grants.
06.01.2022 We are looking for two L-Shaped office desks to accommodate TADSA volunteers at our Gilles Plains office. If you are able to help us please contact us. 8261 2922
04.01.2022 Turning the Tap the Easy Way! Another handy-hand by TADSA! Our enthusiastic home maker Terri wanted an extended ‘arm’ attached to the tap turner to make tap functions smooth and secure. TADSA volunteers came up with this strong moulded tap turner that simply hooks over the top of the capstan. This provides an ideal gripping aid for people with limited mobility or with a weak or painful grip too. The extended tap turner is made to be a ‘winner’ amongst children too. Another extension by our volunteers that made the life of our client, a ‘TAD’ bit easier.
03.01.2022 In late October we put out a call for donations of items for our Christmas Hamper Appeal. Your response helped make it possible for us to deliver over 70 hampers to deserving individuals and families right across South Australia. It was a delight to deliver them and see the joy it bought to many. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support is our encouragement. #MerryChristmas
