24.01.2022 This week we celebrate a milestone that has taken the best part of 2 decades to arrive. Emmanuel Nayagodamu , the self proclaimed "Wise One", plays his 200th game for club. Moving into the front row this year seems to have rejuvenated the big fella, with his shiny scalp now covered by what appears to be hair for the first time in living memory! ...Continue reading
23.01.2022 Another split of the games. 1st Grade went down in a very tight game, 28-29. 2nd Grade continue the perfect start with a 19-15 win.... Next week we head to Kiama to take on the Cows
23.01.2022 Have you heard the latest Tech Tahs news? No? Then you haven't signed up to the clubs newsletter OR the website! You can subscribe to both the newsletter AND the website here: https://www.techtahs.com/... Now, if you HAD subscribed already, you would know that the 2021 committee has been appointed, and that they have already appointed coaches for both 1st and 2nd Grades for the coming season. Tim Olsen has been re-appointed 1st Grade Coach, whilst Fred Purcell joins the returning Luke Mayberry in 2nd Grade. With 2021 just around the corner, that means pre-season is coming...
21.01.2022 Finals score against Avondale, 1st Grade went down 36-0. 2nd Grade held on for a hard fought 17-15 victory.
20.01.2022 Hard to argue with the truth!
19.01.2022 Another split of our games against Kiama yesterday. 1st Grade went down 17-22 in another tight contest. The 2nd Grade juggernaut keeps on rolling with a solid 24-14 victory.
19.01.2022 Just a reminder that the clubs AGM is today at 3pm. Which of course leads into the Preso and the sumptuous feast that Freddy and co are currently prepping. Its only $25 for adults and $10 for kids and its not too late to RSVP!
19.01.2022 2020 has been a year of firsts. For the first time, we've had a player demand a Player Profile, knowing full well what will come his way. Well, to do him the justice such a demand deserves, the call was put out to sources near and far, and that call was answered. This weeks Player Profile is none other than Mitchell Crotty.... This year, Mitch decided that he'd had enough of the charade that is training. To be fair, he hadn't "trained" in some years, despite regularly attending Tuesday and Thursday night club trainings. Something about his right calf (or was it his left?) or his back, or some such other made up injury. He also decided that he would only play the 2nd half of 2nd grade games, after everyone else had already softened up the opposition for him to come on and finish the game off, claiming he had steered the team to victory. This week, he was due to play his 100th game for the club. However, he somehow managed to sneak his way onto the pitch in 1st Grade, much to the disappointment of his partner Alex, who was not in attendance and was preparing to celebrate it with him, and the rest of the club, this week! So, come and watch Mitch watching from the sidelines tomorrow, as we head to Woonona to take on the Woonona Shamrocks for the 2nd week in a row, and see Mitch run on for his 101st game for the mighty Tech Waratahs! Age - 18 months younger than timmy Occupation - warehouse admin Position - 9 or 10, should probably be in the pack but I'm too soft. Favourite beverage - Sailor Jerrys dry and lime Favourite food - clearly not the healthy stuff, and zinger burgers What brought you to the CLUB? A young Jarrod Livingston-Foggo once said while we were sitting in a hot tub in Colorado after a tough day on the slopes, "you should come play rugby for tech", so I did. Does pineapple belong on pizzas? Pineapple absolutely does not belong on pizza! Biggest pest at the Club? Tough one, so many pests at the club. Probably Block or Lachy, or self Favourite thing about the Club? We welcome anyone and everyone, no matter your rugby ability. If you're a good bloke and like a drink afterwards then you're for us. Best hangover feed - chicky nuggs of course. What position do you currently hold in the WCHDFC? (Wollongong chapter of the Hilary Duff Fan Club) - no comment. How old are you really? My birth certificate says 38, but going on 83. How does it feel to be the oldest player in IDRU history? I like to have a record or some sort. How does it feel to be the new, but lesser talented, Stuey Pearson? Just to be spoken in the same breath as Stuey is an honour.
19.01.2022 If any of the brothers are keen, meet up at South Beach Car Park directly behind win stadium. #Talk2MeBro
18.01.2022 Proof that when you want something done on, (or off) the field, you can always rely on a couple of front rowers to put their heads together and get the job done. The trench across Saunders has been dug and refilled (mostly) in preparation for the cabling for our new light poles, to help the coaches see what actually happens at training! Thanks to all the helpers that came and barrowed, shovelled, dug, greased, raked and talked yesterday, but we all know the grunt work was done upfront...

07.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all Tech-Tahs past, present and future. An early warning from the coaching staff not to go too heavy on the Christmas cheer, with the start of preseason only 2 weeks away. Hopefully Santa has delivered all your rugby wishes ready for Season 2021!
06.01.2022 Only 2 rounds left in Season 2020. This week, we head back across the road to Uni to play Shoalhaven for the 2nd time. However, we only play them in 1st Grade, with 2nds having a bye. Kickoff is 3.15 so make sure you head over the bridge and support the boys for our last away game of the year
03.01.2022 3 games to go for Season 2020. This week, we make that super long trip, all the way across the road to Uni! We play Uni in 2's, but Camden in 1's. Kickoff at the regular times of 1.30 and 3.15. Be warned, the Uni Parking Police love it when clubs come to uni, so make sure you park in the right spot or it could be an expensive day.... Although, you can always park at Saunders and walk across the bridge!
02.01.2022 With no more meat pies being scored by the players on the field, the Saunders faithful have stocked up on a wide variety of Pie and Lamingtons to keep them going during the offseason, thanks to Gainsborough Bakery!
