Bryce has always had a passion for things electrical and is now following in his father's footsteps of becoming an electrician. Through his apprenticeship, Bryce spends 2 days a week working and training with his host employer, Jason Cummi...ngs Electrical. This small business based on the Atherton Tablelands has introduced Bryce to many aspects of electrical work which he enjoys. The prestigious Queensland Training Awards, which celebrates top achievers in training in this state, will celebrate its 59th year in 2020. Across 14 categories, the awards recognise individuals and organisations that strive for and have achieved success, best practice and innovation in vocational education and training (VET). The awards showcase all that's great about VET in Queensland, with categories for apprentices, trainees, vocational students, teachers, and trainers, as well as training providers and employers. 15.01.2022 http:// WELL DONE CALEB // Congratulations go to Caleb Noble (Y11 Eng P-tech) on recently starting his school-based fitter & turner apprenticeship with Prodraulics. Caleb has done a couple blocks of work experience with Pro-draulics and on the second block an apprenticeship opportunity came up so the employer offered it to him, as they were so impressed with his work ethic, enthusiasm, and drive to secure a job. ... Pro-draulics are ongoing supporters of Tec-NQ's work experience program, school-based apprentices & full-time training and we are proud to be working with them. This just goes to show that an apprenticeship opportunity can come up at any time, so you really need to be putting your best foot forward on EVERY block, in order to be the first one considered for the job. Many of our employers use Tec-NQ's work experience program as a recruitment tool to find the right apprentice so once they find someone that fits in with their business then they offer them an apprenticeship if the time if right. Always giving 110%, showing enthusiasm, showing up EVERY day, and using your initiative are things that employers consider when looking at putting on apprentices. Congratulations Caleb! Tec-NQ was featured on page 12 of the report available in the link below. Tec-NQ supported development of this report by coordinating industry visits for with local manufacturers. One of the recommendations made in this report which was finalized in November (the release was delayed due to COVID) was the establishment of a Gateway to Ind...ustry School Hub for Engineering and Manufacturing (now Advanced Manufacturing).
