25.01.2022 Sorry there's not much happening in the workshop, I just hope there are some budding guitarists out there stuck in lockdown with time to spare. What a great time to get up close and personal with one of my hand crafted instrument, maybe get me to build you a guitar that is as unique as you are.

25.01.2022 I had previously put this guitar up on the site without a price. It is a one of a kind, as are all the guitars l build and this one not only looks stunning with unique hand selected timber but has a beautiful tone. The top is of beautiful solid Jacaranda, back and sides are QLD silky oak, neck is also QLD silky oak, fretboard is ebony, binding is dark silky oak with fine herringbone purfling. Priced with a hard case at $1950, the result of many many hours of handcrafting. Please contact me if you would like to have a look and a play.

25.01.2022 We have a new act for Backstage Pass this Friday... Local musician Paul Trevaskis. Tune in and hear some classic tunes streamed live to you in the comfort of your home.

23.01.2022 I Fell in love with the QLD Silky Oak for this one, it looked stunning in the raw. the finished guitar looks even more stunning. QLD Silky Oak back and sides, Jacaranda top, Qld Silky Oak neck, Ebony fretboard and bridge. It is for sale, POA.

23.01.2022 It was very pleasing to do a repair and refresh on Sherrene's Maton Lute bass. It had been tucked in a corner for quite a few years and just needed a little maintenance. I repaired where the original jack was in the side of the guitar, it was accidentally dropped and I had years ago re-located the jack to the front which left a hole plus a bit of missing timber next to the hole so I carefully cut out the side and replaced the hole with a new piece of timber and sanded the area smooth. I also replaced the nut which had a piece broken off next to the E string and made and fitted a new pick guard. Lastly I re-finished the side of the guitar and gave it a good polish. It just needs a case now to keep it in.

22.01.2022 Just completed this little beauty, a special order for a budding local bass player. We call it a MINICASTER but this one is a short scale bass. I have made several minicaster CBG,s with 3 strings and this one is the first 4 string bass in that style. Another five CBG,s in the making too, various styles. With two acoustic 6 strings in the making I have plenty to keep me out of mischief during the virus lockdown. I also have plans for four different size Ukeleles that I have had sitting around for yonks and figure it's about time I put them to the test.

20.01.2022 One very happy Tecka (Old Dogs New Tricks) with the new Cigar box style guitar I made with his help. Bev found this biscuit tin at the op shop and immediately thought of Tecka, the dogs on the top of the tin just perfect for the" Old dog" It looks fantastic and sounds awesome, Tecka couldn't wait to get home and do some serious practice on it before their next gig this weekend. He has named it WOOFA!

17.01.2022 Here is Tecka playing WOOFA!

16.01.2022 This week I finished another acoustic guitar, still have another almost complete, no hurry though as I am waiting for some supplies to come in. This guitar features all solid wood, as are all of my acoustics. Blackwood back and sides, Jacaranda top, Qld silver Ash neck, River Oak fretboard with Abalone dot inserts, Indian Rosewood bridge, matching Blackwood rosette inlay and headstock veneer. It has a beautiful deep tone with powerful projection. I have also had a request f...rom a friend to make him an acoustic, possibly similar to the one that Sherrene and I made recently. We are still sorting out the finer details for that one. Hope you are all practicing your social distancing and hope this will all end soon.

14.01.2022 Things are pretty quiet in my workshop at the moment, waiting for all you budding musicians out there to order a guitar or two. Cheers, Ted.

14.01.2022 After several months of collaboration with Sherrene, her "mini" is finally finished. It has been a pleasure to work with Sherrene on this project to help her build this fine instrument. She has learned to use tools and techniques she had never used before and handled them so well. It features a solid Huon Pine top, solid QLD Maple back and sides, Maple neck and Indian Rosewood fretboard and bridge. We can now reveal the result of all her hard work.

13.01.2022 Its been a while but its time for an update. things have been a bit quiet during the Corona outbreak but I have been bust in the workshop when I can. I have done a few repairs to instruments and have made a couple of very different guitar cases for cigar box guitars already made and several jewellery boxes for family gifts. It was very pleasing to re-build Paul's very first guitar we bought him when he was three years old, it was a chinese 1/4 size and had fallen into disrepair. It now features a solid Huon Pine top and solid cedar back, new fretboard, rosewood bridge and new machine heads. It plays quite well and Paul is delighted with the result. It will now hang pride of place in his music studio. I have added some photos. Thanks to all who visit my site and to those who share.

08.01.2022 Here are a few of the Cigar Box guitars I have made, anyone interestedthese ones are for sale. please message me if you are interested. I have had several enquiries recently regarding custom made guitars so I hope to be busy with them soon. Thanks to everyone who pops on the site for a look, Cheers, Ted.

07.01.2022 After a long break it's time to get the workshop going again, just need to have a giant clean up and get rid of a heap of surplus junk cluttering up my space. More soon.

04.01.2022 Back into the workshop again with quite a few projects. Two more 6 string acoustics and 6 or 7 cigar box beauties, one very special one for Tekka, from Old Dogs New Tricks, He has even named this one but I won't spoil his surrise. More news in a few days.
