This year it is more important than ever, as we pay tribute in particular to the tragic loss of four brave and dedicated Victoria Police Officers whose lives were cut short in Melbourne earlier this year. Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor, Senior Constable Kevin King, Constable Glen Humphris and Constable Joshua Prestney, we honour you today and always - thank you.

08.01.2022 Live streamed vision is now constantly rolling in and keeping Brightwater safe from four CCTV cameras erected around the estate. With the aid of super sensors which detect movement, the vision is monitored around the clock and any suspicious behavior will be reported in real time to police. It was a pleasure to have secured a $75,000 Federal Government grant to purchase and install the cameras which will deter criminal and anti-social behavior that has recently been experienc...ed in the community. Congratulations to those at the Brightwater Community Association and the local community for this fantastic result. 08.01.2022 It was a pleasure to visit sisters Janet (101 yrs) and Jessie (97 yrs) to celebrate their recent birthdays and present Janet with a commemorative medallion for the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII. These #HiddenLegends in our community shared amazing stories with me, including working for the Flying Doctors and managing Defence logistics in Brisbane during the war.

07.01.2022 The hospitality industry was one of the hardest-hit by the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic with many business owners left unsure if they could continue to operate and pay their staff. The Jobkeeper program was designed to provide certainty to the tens of thousands of businesses and millions of employees who went from business as usual one day to anything but the next. That’s why I have been speaking with local businesses in my electorate to discover how they have been aff...ected and to learn how Federal Government measures are working to assist businesses to keep their doors open and Australians employed. In this video we speak with Matt Murray, the co-owner of Murray's Cafe licenced espresso bar in Maroochydore who has managed to keep many of his staff employed throughout the year through utilising Jobkeeper and maintain his connection with the businesses loyal local customers. The biggest cane toad race in the Southern Hemisphere has become an annual fundraiser to help teenage mums stay in school through the STEMM Program which operates out of Burnside High School. 03.01.2022 I have questioned the Palaszczuk Government's infrastructure record for years. I have now proven their underspend, thanks to a Parliamentary Budget Office analysis a $12 billion black hole in their first 5 years in office! How many schools and hospitals, bridges and ports, roads and rail lines, dams and weirs have Queenslanders missed out on? Thousands of jobs have been denied smashing productivity, competitiveness and confidence.

03.01.2022 The 2020 Nambour Cup! $1,300 raised for the S.T.E.M.M program at Burnside State High School. 03.01.2022 It was great fun to test the brand-new table tennis tables at Burnside High School with Lachie, Dylan, Abbey, Matt and the team last week. This fantastic new addition was made possible by a $20,000 Federal grant as part of the Local Schools Community Fund. 11 local schools were able to access a total of $200,000 through this program earlier in the year and it is so rewarding to now see the result. ... Thanks for having me Burnside.

02.01.2022 $20,000 has been awarded to the Coolum & North Shore Coast Care organisation to continue the great work they do in nurturing the local environment. Joined by the Assistant Minister for Waste Reduction and Environmental Management Trevor Evans MP, we were able to hear first-hand about the number of fantastic local initiatives the group have driven over the years. The Federal Government funding was awarded through the Communities Environment Grant which recognises the great... work that small-scale, local organisations can do on the ground when supported. Congratulations!

02.01.2022 The manufacturing sector is one of the largest employers in Australia and is critical to our jobs-led economic recovery. That is why I co-hosted a round table alongside the Regional Development Australia Sunshine Coast last week with representatives from 20 local manufacturing businesses to discuss the Morrison Government’s $1.5 billion Modern Manufacturing Strategy. Earlier this year, four local businesses received a share in more than $1.8 million worth of Federal Governme...nt support in Round one of the Manufacturing Modernisation Fund and I am keen to see them compete for a share of the funding we have announced for Round Two. This funding is only one part of our $1.5 billion Modern Manufacturing Strategy, announced in the Budget. It will help to create a manufacturing sector for a modern Australian economy by assisting the sector grow in scale, become more resilient and boost competitiveness on the global stage.
