24.01.2022 Students at Teen Challenge started the Arrowsmith Program last week. It's based on the science of neuroplasticity and helps students strengthen the weak cognitive capacities underlying a range of learning difficulties.

23.01.2022 *Phil is a donor who has 3 children. One of his children came to TC for less than a month but in that time, he experienced hope. He went to a church service and what was spoken on that day stayed with him for the next 10 years as he battled his addiction. One Sunday morning, when Phil had lost all but a small sense of hope for his son, he opened the door to his boy, who was ready to get well. Three years later, he's doing well, working and enjoying life and restored relationships. Phil said "I give because TC was a large part of the answer in my son's recovery ." *Name changed to protect privacy.

He currently consults, studies and speaks on how to foster the wellbeing and education of professional ruby union players in Australia, the role of fatherhood and how to build resilience and character in young people. James is leading a #WhatsYour50 Challenge to help raise funds for TCQ. Find out more here: https://www.teenchallengeqld.org.au/what-s-your-50-challenge

15.01.2022 Over the last 12 months, God has wooed me with His unconditional love, His mercy, His wisdom and acceptance. These words were spoken by a Teen Challenge QLD student during their Completion Ceremony. Your kindness makes this possible. #SpringIntoKindness

14.01.2022 "The staff treat us like real people, they don't look down on us, they just love us and they are so patient and kind." One of our students said this at their 'Completion Ceremony' and it's true! Our staff and volunteers are all incredibly compassionate and caring people. They can do this frontline work because of the generous donations from supporters. We love them all!
14.01.2022 It's such a comfort to know that whatever you're going through right now, God's got this...

13.01.2022 "As your children become young adults, it's time to allow them to individuate. Believe in yourself that you've given them all the tools they need to be successful. Your guidance is what will keep them safe not your judgement of yourself or of them." - Lisa Johnson, Family Support, Teen Challenge QLD

13.01.2022 Sharon worked as a volunteer for many years in TC's New Life Centre. She loved seeing the young women find freedom from their addictions. Sharon is a dog lover, and she wanted to bring a Schnauzer into her family. Both Sharon & her husband weren't sure if this was the best way to spend their money. They both have a heart for people, and they see so much need in the world. They got talking to Pauline (TCQ Transition Manager) and her husband Dave (a vet), and they came up with a beautiful plan. David and Pauline would give a puppy to Steve and Sharon to love, and in return, Steve and Sharon would allow their handsome new family member, Tilly to bear 6 litters and with each puppy sold the proceeds would go directly to TCQ. It was the love of people and dogs that led to an excellent outcome for all concerned.
13.01.2022 "Teenagers are adults on training wheels. Some are eager to take the training wheels off as fast as they can and have a stack. It's important as adults to have compassion and comfort them when they fall, and encourage them to get back on the bike. We all know how hard it is to 'adult' some days." - Lisa Johnson, Family Support, Teen Challenge QLD
13.01.2022 Every day at Teen Challenge, we see lives transformed, but we can’t do it without your support. Help us reach our goal of $24,000, which enables 4 people to complete the 12-week 'Recover' phase of the New Life Centre rehabilitation program. #SpringIntoKindness
12.01.2022 A big THANKS to Trent Donovan from ABC Containers for their ACT OF KINDNESS. These containers will be used to store mowers and as a workshop. #SpringIntoKindness
11.01.2022 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: Ruby Slipperz Ruby’s Charm School provides tutoring/coaching/mentoring on performance, whether it be acting, singing, public speaking - everyone needs encouragement. When I commenced the school I made a decision that I was going to pay it forward to the Lord and provide an experience not just for those who can afford it but for those who have little or no access. Teen Challenge was my first thought, after many visits talking to the girls and doing devoti...ons, I decided I was going to offer my services on a weekly basis. What a blast! We have such fun, laughing and crying, singing and dancing. Our second showcase for 2020 was a couple of weeks ago and I am so pleased to say my special guest was a gorgeous Teen Challenge girl singing and playing ukulele- her first time on stage ever - definitely not her last. Yay!!!! Footnote:- I named the school after Maxine Powell’s Mowtown Charm School. Her catch cry was I believe everybody is a star and everybody is someone, so I want you to feel like that. This is a photo of Ruby with one of her youngest students, Skye.
10.01.2022 During #FriendshipMonth we're reminded of the close bonds that are formed amongst our students. "Friends come and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you like family." - Proverbs 18:24 Your kindness makes this possible. #SpringIntoKindness
10.01.2022 Students from NEW LIFE CENTRE left a THANK YOU note for staff in the ENCOURAGEMENT BOX. Your kindness makes this possible.
09.01.2022 Mick sums up his childhood in 7 words: "I felt like I was an inconvenience.' He started taking drugs as a teen and committed crimes to feed his addiction, until the police caught up with him. He came to Teen Challenge QLD when he was 20 years old. Today, Mick is drug free. He's a husband, father and a Tradie. His story of healing and restoration is so powerful.
08.01.2022 Oops! We made a mistake in a text we sent out to our wonderful supporters today. The kindness of their responses really exemplifies the heart of our supporters. It really made our day. Thank you! #SpringintoKindness

05.01.2022 A great bit THANK YOU to NRG Services. Terry organised some of guys to come in and fit out the New Life Centre house with new lights, smoke detectors and bathroom exhaust fans. It took them a couple of days!
03.01.2022 Joanne and Helen from TCQ had the privilege this week of meeting with Stephen Jeffs and Andrew Dyer from Network Communications. Network Communications may look like any other business, but at their core, they exist to love people. They believe love can be the foundation for a business. They also believe it’s great to be generous. It was fun discussing the possibilities around how they can lend their support to TCQ. Talk about a Planned Act of Kindness - They shouted us lunch at the amazing Good Life Café in Buderim. Thank you Network Communications.
03.01.2022 "I give a donation monthly because the need is great and I trust the work." There are many reasons why our wonderful donors support Teen Challenge QLD. We're so grateful for each one of our donors.
02.01.2022 *Lucy has recently joined the TCQ program. She's nervous about doing the whole 12 months but knowing she can complete the Recover Program in 12 weeks seems doable. Because of your donations, she'll get to work on things like personal responsibility and self-awareness. She'll have the support of her own caseworker, psychologist and counsellor. Then she'll be on her way to finding freedom from her addictions. Help TCQ raise funds to allow 3 more people complete the Recovery Program. #SpringIntoKindness https://www.teenchallengeqld.org.au/spring-into-kindness *name changed to protect privacy
