14.01.2022 Shout out to those who are struggling right now. An unfortunate theme for many of my families at the moment. Dark these clouds may be, but the blue skies will come
14.01.2022 Ive had a lot of interest in people wanting to find out more about anxiety.. given this, the following may serve useful (I hope it does ) When we experience anxiety, our body typically prepares typically fight or flight (it may also freeze, fawn or fatigue).. our brain perceives we are in actual danger and rightly so.. prepares itself for this. The physiological response to anything that is deemed to threaten our survival is complex, however happens so very quickly! Our hypo...Continue reading

11.01.2022 In complex PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), anxiety is a predominant theme. When anxiety takes hold typically one of the following 4 responses are displayed Fight Flight Freeze... Fawn These responses are typical in complex PTSD but also extremely relevant with all anxiety disorders. When people experience trauma or absent parenting, especially in childhood, it can hard-wire their brains to react to stress (or things that are incorrectly perceived as ‘stressful’ or threatening) in a detrimental, ‘abnormal’ way, even as adults. Did you know that your main stress response mode was set as a child? Once you realised that fighting / running away / numbing the pain / keeping danger away by keeping others happy seemed to work best for your particular circumstance, that becomes your default stress response! It is likely even in the absence of PTSD that we have all experienced one of these responses. This might serve useful to help begin to work out what ‘stress response’ is your most dominant way of responding to life’s difficult challenges, stresses and people.
10.01.2022 TM2 is taking a mini break.. just for a week to recharge the batteries and hang out with the family (at home like the rest of our nation) We will be back refreshed, recharged and rejuvenated on Tuesday 14th April. 06.01.2022 Unless you have been living under a rock (or in absolute denial!), there is no escaping the reality that is COVID-19. Managing our stress and anxiety around what is vastly uncharted territory is scary for us and for our children/families. The following PDF is one of the best management plans I've come across.. to help us all be alert yet not alarmed.. attentive though not absorbed.. prepared yet not preoccupied.. and calm without the chaos. Thank you to our friends at The Kooky Clinic for this wise and timely information. This artice is well worth looking at

03.01.2022 It's so true.. we are our own harshest critic. We wouldn't dare speak the words of our inner self to others - why then do we feel it's ok to speak to ourself this way? Let's take this moment to pause, hold ourselves gently and with kindness in mind. Your mind will thank you for it
