24.01.2022 That magical moment when the sky lights up - beauty is all around if you take the time to notice it, even in the middle of the city. #lookup #ignorethecrane #magicalmothernature #sunrise #yogaeverywhere

23.01.2022 My first yoga class at a studio in forever. Not too many classes to try in the outback! Loved doing a class with far infrared heating and the lovely Liliana who gave lots of options and modifications @eclipsehotyoga

18.01.2022 About to tackle 108 Sun Salutations to mark the Spring Equinox #sydneyyogacollective #wishmeluck #yoga #sunrise @sydneyyogacollective

17.01.2022 Not every day of life is sunny. Embrace the grey days. There is light and shadow, sunshine & grey in all of us. #beyou #greydays #beautifulgreydays #nature #mothernature #yogaeverywhere

16.01.2022 Yoga reading at the beach - it’s all about how we can co-create safer yoga communities. Looks at past abuses and victims, power, guru-worship, and best practices to move forward

13.01.2022 Early morning yoga study with @lisadanylchuk ‘the brain and body can repress difficult emotions and memories’ - yoga can help #yoga4trauma #centreforyogaandtraumarecovery #lifelonglearner #stillinbed

11.01.2022 So much energy in the ocean today. Powerful, fierce, raw and beautiful #beliketheocean

10.01.2022 This week’s yoga class was with Amelia from @yogabellingen with the Yoga Synergy Fire sequence - a slow strong flow to warm up in these winter months. I appreciated that Amelia always sought consent & feedback on her assists and used humour throughout her class because yoga is fun and shouldn’t be taken too seriously

09.01.2022 Beach yoga with teacher Sophie on Xmas Eve morning . What a beautiful spot to reflect on the year that’s been. Loved that we did some deep listening with a stranger at the end of class, no talking just listening to the unknown person speak about what they were grateful for this Christmas @ Port Willunga Beach

09.01.2022 After a few days rattling around on bumpy sand tracks on Fraser Island, my body was achy and in desperate need of some yoga! Took a Vinyasa class with Kirsten from @lovelifeliveyoga in Bundy. Lovely to flow in such a gorgeous space. Even as a visitor, I could feel the sense of community created between the students and teachers here. Plus what a great name for the studio! @lovelifeliveyoga

08.01.2022 My favourite time of day, when anything feels possible. What if we could hold on to this feeling throughout the day? Imagine what we could achieve. #sunrise #yogaeverywhere #selfbelief #anythingispossible #endlesspossibilities

07.01.2022 I had grand plans for today that involved a yoga asana practice and a swim. My mind said ‘yes!’, but my body said ‘no way lady’. I never used to be able to hear my body but through the practice of yoga I have learned to tune in and (mostly) I now pay attention. Today I’m recovering after being sick, I’ve got cramps and it’s unbelievably hot here in Sydney - not the day to be super active . Listening to your body is so important for physical and mental health. If you’re like me and can be go-getter, ticking things to do off the list, you also need to make time for rest when the body needs it. Yoga is one of the best ways I know to get in touch with your body and to really know how it’s feeling and begin to understand what your body needs right now. So take a moment and listen to your body, what is it telling you?

07.01.2022 Lately I’ve stopped listening to podcasts or music when I go for a walk. Don’t get me wrong I a good podcast (especially if it’s about yoga or surfing!!), but I’ve been trying to create more space in my life and where better to start than with creating some head space. So I’ve been walking with only my thoughts, not really paying attention to them, just letting them come and go, and choosing not to fill my head with more new info from podcasts while I walk. Enjoying the sounds of nature and creating some space to just be. #everydaymindfullness #natureyoga #everydayyoga #justbe #mindfullness #walkingmeditation #yoga #dulwichhill #cooksriver #innerwest #dulwichhillyoga #headspace

06.01.2022 The book I just picked up to browse in an airport shop fell open to this page. Exactly what I needed to hear today as I’m thinking a lot about the future, the unknown, what’s next and was feeling uncertain. Maybe you need to hear it too. #youhaveeverythingyouneedwithinyou #mantra #yogapractice #yogainspiration #yoga

05.01.2022 Listening to the body is a continual practice for me. Today my body desired deep rest, to feel supported, nurtured and held. So I spent some quality time in my favourite Restorative Yoga pose, nestled in blankets, surrendering. #restorativeyoga #listeningtothebody #suptabaddhakonasana #deeprest #restandrestore #fridaynightin

03.01.2022 Pyjama yoga (it’s the best kind of yoga) - with this view! #pyjamayoga #yogawithaview #travellingyogini

03.01.2022 Did my first Vin-Yin class today, lead by Gopali at @freeflowyogambah. The first half was Vinyasa and the second half Yin. I loved Gopali’s continual emphasis on doing what was right for your body. Also loved the far infrared heating on a winter’s day

01.01.2022 As I travel around Australia, I’m going to try out different yoga classes. First up was a class with Claudia at @yogaforall_ in #newcastle. They have a pay what you can policy . Was nice to be cosy inside on a blustery day . I loved Claudia’s turn of phrase after we had come out of king pigeon pose ‘notice the echo of the shape throughout your body’

01.01.2022 Think of every movement as medicine for your body - my favourite quote from this week’s yoga class ~ Vinyasa Flow with Ines @essenceofliving at Mermaid Beach. Beautiful studio and loved that they had ALL the props - blocks, bolsters, straps and blankets! Loved being able to be covered with a blanket for a luxurious long Savasana
