25.01.2022 Version 8.0 of our Guidelines are released today. The key changes include the following:- Masks... KNSW recommends the wearing of face masks at KNSW Sanctioned Events, where it is hard to maintain 1.5 metres of physical distancing from others. KNSW Clubs may seek to mandate the wearing of face masks for KNSW Sanctioned Events held at their track/circuit at their discretion. Spectators In New South Wales - Spectators are limited to one parent/person per participant (where practicable) at KNSW Sanctioned Events; and In the ACT - Spectators are limited to a total maximum of 100 at a KNSW Sanctioned Event. This 100 excludes participants/officials. There is still a cap of 100 total participants in place per event in the ACT. We continue to monitor the advice from both NSW and ACT governments in addition to exploring additional ways to protect our karters, officials and volunteers at our events. Thank you for the ongoing support of your local KNSW Clubs and local kart businesses.

25.01.2022 Hey all, Great to see so many teams for practice day at Port Macquarie track today. I know that you will all be planning your strategy for tomorrows big race tonight and maybe even your morning coffee fix.... Well that one has been sorted. There will be a local coffee van set up from 7am outside the canteen. Do a small business and the Port track a favour and put off buying the bean till you get to the track. The canteen will also be serving breakfast from early. See you all tomorrow.

24.01.2022 Due to concerns of some teams surrounding the results posted yesterday from the weekend, we will be taking the unavoidable action of conducting a full review of the results from both Saturday and Sunday to ensure complete accuracy. It appears the issue is more complex than first picked up in the post race review but we will get to the bottom of it. We apologise that the Port Macquarie timing curse has burnt us yet again. We will ensure we get this completely correct and discuss it with those most affected. TEKA Committee

23.01.2022 Just another Canberra blooper to lighten up the first day after a long weekend. Photo 1 shows 2 karts sampling Circuit Mark Webber in reverse direction while kart 17 ensures no illegal kerb hopping occurs. Photo 2 shows what was really happening in Photo 1. 2 karts following 1 kart backwards downhill in a beautiful display of tandem karting .

23.01.2022 Gravel Trekking WOW! Canberra, Circuit Mark Webber, was a great track before and now it's arguably one of the best. Walking around the pits the most talked about topic was the ultra-fast, hang on to your Weet-Bix, turn 2. Some even compared it to the famous Eau Rouge at Spa. Lucky then we all had the chance to sample the new track during Saturday’s dry weather. I say all because bar a very small number of the exceptionally large 31 kart field, all were present at the TEKA e...Continue reading

23.01.2022 It is with deep regret that the TEKA committee has decided to postpone our scheduled State Title event at Dubbo next weekend, the 15th and 16th August. This is due to many teams withdrawing from the event due to Covid 19 concerns. Not only have we lost teams but key officials and helpers who without them the event cannot go on.... We apologise for the late notice but the situation only started to unfold Friday night and we have been working hard to see if we could rescue the event. Huge thank you to Karl from Dubbo kart club for trying to fill our missing positions from his end, but ultimately too many teams and officials pulled out forcing our hand. Hopefully making the announcement today will give you all time to cancel accommodation and make new arrangements around work and plans for next weekend. We will monitor the Covid situation closely with KNSW over the coming weeks and hope to possibly find a new date for our State Title later in the season. TEKA committee.

18.01.2022 REMINDER Karting NSW strongly recommend the use of face masks at their events. They are not compulsory however we as a club would appreciate that little extra effort from each of you to ensure everyones safety. Be like Liam.

18.01.2022 COVID Update All signs lead to racing at Canberra on September 20 as advertised. Our Sup Regs are due to be approved shortly and Officials are organised. We do however need fuel bay helpers, so please spread the word and get in contact with us if you or someone you know is willing to help. This is a paid role . The event will be one day only under TEKAs permit, being Sunday September 20 including a 5 hour race. We can however hire the track exclusively on Saturday Septemb...er 19 for unofficial practice under Canberras practice permit. This would be at a cost of $75 per kart. Please comment below if you or your team will attend on the Saturday so we can decide if its feasible for us to hire the track. As soon as Sup Regs are approved we will open entries and keep the updates coming! TEKA Committee.

17.01.2022 With presentation being held over until Dubbo we didnt get to publicly thank Port Macquarie Kart Club for their awesome track this weekend. Massive thanks to Jamie, Penny and the crew for making TEKA feel very welcome and for turning out a perfectly prepared track and facilities. Once again the canteen food was awesome and the extras like the coffee van and race simulator were an added bonus.... Also a huge thanks to the flag marshals and fuel bay boy (sorry cant remember your name) for helping out at last minute notice all weekend. Of course a huge thanks to the TEKA officials team and committee for making it all happen. Looking forward to next year already.

06.01.2022 Be kind to our volunteers!

06.01.2022 The wait is nearly over. Three and a half weeks until we resume our season. Entries are yet to officially open due to our Sup Regs not being approved. Due to the ongoing changes and easing of restrictions by the Government, Karting NSW are waiting until closer to events than normal before releasing Sup Regs. This allows them to understand better what the social distancing laws will be at that time and apply appropriate measures. You may have seen that current NSW events only... allow 10 karts on track at once. Obviously that wont work for us (it would just be a Maverick Kart race). We are talking with KNSW daily though and they are confident we will be able to run at Port in July if restrictions continue to be lifted by the NSW Government as expected. The back-up plan is to relocate to Canberra on the same weekend, as ACT laws are less restrictive at the moment. At this stage that is a back-up plan only. Weve asked that a decision be made on Port this week, to give us all enough time to adapt plans if the location changes. Stay tuned for more updates later in the week. Apologies for not getting concrete information out so close to the event but we are doing our best in the current circumstances to provide the best possible outcome.

02.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTICE Wet weather tyre rule change for this weekends Property Central Orange Double Header. Due to recent unprecedented demand, Dunlop have run out of stock of our wet weather tyres. This is through no fault of their own but due to the recent weather and COVID impact on shipping of their next order. ... We have managed to secure enough tyres from Dunlop and elsewhere to fulfill all orders that were placed with entries. Many teams have been unable to source them from kart stores though, especially trying to organise two sets. With this in mind, we're making the decision to apply a bulletin to the Sup Regs on the weekend, which will state that each team is permitted only one set of wet weather tyres for the entire weekend. This is the only fair option we believe, to ensure a level playing field and not a race of haves and have nots. Fortunately the weather forecast is getting better as we get closer and fingers crossed we'll have dry running for the entire weekend. Thanks, TEKA Committee

01.01.2022 STATE TITLE ENTRIES OPEN Dubbo Kart Club, August 15-16 2020 Entries and Sup Regs available via the links on our website homepage.... http://teka.com.au/

01.01.2022 Revised 2020 Calendar Release Thank you to all teams and members who provided feedback to the email sent out a few weeks ago regarding what remains of the 2020 race season. Your feedback has shaped our decisions in terms of number of rounds and locations. Leaving tracks out was difficult but we felt squeezing more rounds in would be too difficult on everyone in the current environment and your feedback confirmed that. While this isnt certain until further Government advi...ce, its a definite plan based on all information available. Sup Regs for our return event at Port Macquarie will be submitted this week. All dates are as per our original calendar, which makes it easy on clubs and from a planning perspective for everyone. The only location change is our August round previously planned for Grenfell. This will now be held at Dubbo and be our 2020 State Title meeting. It will be a TEKA only event with 4SKA running their State Title in November. This avoids any potential issue of exceeding the maximum number of people at an event, whatever that may be. Its undecided whether the event will include night racing but we will get through that detail soon. If anyone has any questions please send an email to [email protected]. Time to dust the karts off (and drivers) and get excited again. Were coming back real soon .

01.01.2022 Event Photos from the 2020 Property Central Orange Double header weekend! Thanks to Chloe from Five Lights Photography.

01.01.2022 Get up to speed with the social distancing requirements for this weekend. Spectators are now allowed but everyone must abide by the KNSW guidelines. That includes every person who enters the track on each day scanning in via a track specific barcode on their smart phone. If your phone camera doesnt include a QR code scanner, you will need to download an app as there are no exceptions. The barcode will be laminated and presented around the venue in locations to be advised.
