19.01.2022 A 24 year old Mooroolbark male will be presented before the Ringwood Magistrates' Court today after being arrested by Lilydale Police overnight. It is alleged ...the male was observed in a building site in Simmons Court, Chirnside Park at about 3am this morning. Police attended and located the male with a stolen vehicle, weapons and stolen property. The male was also breaching his bail and in breach of the Public Heath and Wellbeing Act 2009 (Covid-19 directions)

02.01.2022 Local police have seen a recent increase in theft, particularly in multi-level apartment buildings in areas like the CBD and Southbank. Police are investigating... these crimes and working with building managers to assess the possibility of police patrols on these premises BUT we need your help. Here are some things that you can do to prevent theft in your apartment building: Remove valuables and keys, lock all doors and close all windows before leaving your vehicle. Keep your car keys out of sight in your home or take them with you if you go out. Secure your bicycle using infrastructure and a D lock. Keep your motorcycle or scooter in a locked garage. Secure the steering lock and use a manual locking device such as a disc lock, U-lock or chain and padlock. Keep a lock on your mailbox, arrange to collect credit cards in person and never leave keys or valuables in your mailbox. If you have a storage unit ensure it’s locked and that expensive items are not left on display. Beware of tailgaters. Don’t let another vehicle follow yours into the garage or allow a stranger into the building even if they claim to be locked out. Always keep your apartment door locked, even while you’re at home. If you’re a victim of theft, report it to the Police Assistance Line via 131 444 or police.vic.gov.au. If you require immediate police attendance or if you see suspicious activity, call Triple Zero (000).
