17.01.2022 Excited for Saturday. Can't wait to cheer on KEYS PLEASE in the first 2yo race of the NQ season, the Pallarenda Stakes in Townsville. Bred by terrific client Rob Roy and trained by Ralph Baker, KEYS PLEASE was THE standout of our inaugral 2018 foal crop. KEYS PLEASE is incredibly well named: she is from Rob's mare JACSAID (named after his beloved mother Jacqui). ... Rob and his brothers as young adults would often have friends over to their house on Friday nights and, when they had had enough to drink, Jacqui would confiscate their car keys so they couldn't drive and be in harms way. When JAC(qui)SAID, "Keys please", it was time to hand 'em over and stay the night and enjoy yourself. KEYS PLEASE was a stunner from birth. Unfortunately the standout filly developed an eye ulcer as a weanling and, after exhaustive efforts, underwent surgery to apply a graft to her eye and save it so as to preserve her racing future. The blemish to her near side eye does nothing to detract from this stunning filly, and we wish her connections the very best of luck on Saturday.

16.01.2022 Huge moment for us. We FINALLY welcomed our first JUNGLE CAT foal into the world last night, and he’s a BEAUTY!!!! We’re aware of three others and all three breeders are happy and all are generating nomination phone calls. We’ll get some pics up later.

16.01.2022 "His fertility is phenomenol. We've sent Sidestep some mares that haven't been able to get in foal for a year or two, and bang, first cover in foal." We had a visit from KBL Thoroughbreds Mark Dunkley earlier this season, and he had some very interesting things to say about Sidestep. When a mare is a tricky breeder, Mark swears by Sidestep's ability to get mares in foal.

16.01.2022 Miss Twilight toys with her rivals in a rich $50,000 race yesterday at Goulburn. Another class performer from SIDESTEP’s first crop. Throughout the season the quality of his foals and the consistency of that quality has been remarkable. Dan Fletcher, Telemon. We sent ten mares in 2019 and all ten returned in foal. We couldn’t be happier with the foals. The similarity in their makeup to what Exceed And Excel throws is uncanny. John Sunderland, Darley.... We’ve supported SIDESTEP heavily throughout his time in Queensland, and the quality of our yearlings as well as the foals born this year is exciting. I think SIDESTEP could be another Written Tycoon. 09.01.2022 Easy to see why breeders are so happy with their Jungle Cat foals. Our first on farm, a colt from Sweet Cracker and just 2 days old, has a great chassis and a lovely head like his old man.
