03.01.2022 It only takes a moment. Turn off the Wi-Fi, put your phone on aeroplane mode, and remember. Our lives are built upon the sacrifices of others. You may never know them, but they sacrificed all the same. They do so in countless ways, big and small, but fewer sacrifices are bigger than those made by the people in our armed forces. Today, on November 11, we remember those who have died or suffered in all wars and conflicts. We remember them all: the people who sat in trenches, ...hoping to see home again; the young men and women who were promised adventure but found nothing of the sort; the Indigenous Australians who fought for a country that didn’t count them among its people. We remember for many reasons. We remember to honour the fallen. We remember to recognise the sacrifices of others and the tragedy of war. We remember in the hope that people will never be called to fight again.
