25.01.2022 To anyone holidaying on Fraser Island these school holidays, please keep an eye on children when swimming in what looks like safe water.

24.01.2022 North Poyungan rocks now smoother traverse thanks to NPWS effort.

15.01.2022 Dear friends of Temoana' Due to the escalating scale of the coronavirus and the potentially disastrous effects on our coastal communities Kath and I have, with immediate effect, closed the Lodge and cancelled reservations through to end May 2020 , with further review as the COVID-19 situation changes. We will be contacting our tenants individually to arrange refunds or date transfers. We know our Island has vulnerable communities and right now we need to do everything we can... to protect the most vulnerable in our communities. As much as we'd love to have you stay now is not the right time for unessential travel or holidays. A heartbreaking decision in the best interests of all. We trust you appreciate our position. Please keep yourselves and your families safe. We'll meet up again in safer times. warm regards Monte and Kathy See more

15.01.2022 Fraser Island Tourism 1960's style!

15.01.2022 Heading to Rainbow Beach from Orchid Beach Feb23, no way I'm sliding down this drop-off to the beach at Middle Rocks (Champagne Pools), about turn !. Plenty of coastal erosion from Cyclone Oma swells.

10.01.2022 Thanks to our many sponsors and helpers , especially Variety and personal friends Ian and Carol Hall and Ross and Sue Stanfield the annual TeMoana Lodge Hawaiian Night Variety Qld fundraiser was a great success once again on Jan 3rd'20. Over 120 Orchid Beach locals and visitors attended this years event , all dressed in colourful Hawaiian shirts , skirts, and leis(the children looked amazing), accompanied with Hawaiian music. Our delicious hangi food was enjoyed by all. The r...affle table this year was loaded with donated items, including items from Wilson Fishing, Tropical Iceboxes, BCF Gympie, Kingston Auto Electrics, Assist Hire, WRB retaining walls, Peters Ice-cream, A1Solar, Orchid Beach Trading Post and many family donated items. Diete Vegetable Wholesalers and Long Yard Beef Company once again supplied meats and veges for our hangis. Our great friend Carol Hall was busy again taking photos of the evening and raffle winners. Kathy and I are thrilled to advise the current fundraising total stands at $8,739.00 , with perhaps a few more private donations to come. We are quite overwhelmed by your support and generosity , this fundraising will make a difference to the lives of many special' kids in Queensland. See more

06.01.2022 Just for your information

05.01.2022 There has been a media release by the Premier regarding Fraser Island and other National Parks being closed. The closure of Fraser Island relates to visitors and campers etc, it does not apply to the following; fulltime residents, emergency services, essential service providers which includes persons required to maintain buildings, services and businesses on the island. QPWS and Island Police are working with stakeholders on a plan to get visitors and non-essential resort wo...rks off the island by pm on Friday 27.3.2020 and pm Sunday 29/3/2020. They are also working on planning to have campers etc. leave the island in an orderly process over the coming days. In response to the concerns raised by Russell, care takers for business are considered essential services and can remain on the island and can be relieved and resupplied as required. As part of the planning process accreditation for these persons will need to be developed and I will speak with you regarding this process shortly. Residents and others will be able to leave and return to the island for resupply by the usual barge process.

04.01.2022 The annual Hawaiian Night fundraiser for Variety Queensland was a hit once again. Thankyou to all of the sponsors and helpers as you have given our Queensland special children and their families the chance to live laugh and learn.

03.01.2022 Night security at TeMoana . . . dare to pass . . !
