As Rene McLennan, Bassendean Mayor says, its just the start of a conversation to revitalise this important and historic part of our town. The most important people in this conversation arent the business owners, though - its the community; the people who will use the shops and other services. So if anyone has an idea for what they would like to see OPR look like, please get in touch with the council using the contact details in Renees post, or I am happy to be a conduit. Elliott

Its been great to be a part of the Economic Development Committee, helping to grow the economic base in this lovely part of town that I call home. There are people doing some truly remarkable things in their community, and I encourage you to do whatever you can to help, too. Just another pair of hands, or a couple of hours a month, can have a benefit greater than you... might imagine. EB PS, yes there is a photo of me in there somewhere....

13.01.2022 The Town of Bassendean is developing its new Arts and Cultural Plan, and is asking for contributions from people in the local area or those with an interest in these areas. It includes things like the Outdoor Community Cinema (an offshoot of Movies by Burswood), NAIDOC celebrations, use of cultural facilities like community halls and libraries, and support for local artists.
