25.01.2022 The end of the year is fast approaching and we want to wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and New Year. This year Teneriffe Physio will be closed on and will re-open on . We look forward to helping you in 2020!

24.01.2022 Thank you for the great response to our first update and the co-operation of our patients with our infection control measures. Its only been a couple of days but it is time for another update: 1. Transition to Telehealth. 2. Private Health Insurance adding Telehealth rebates. 3. Telehealth Fee Structure 4. Workcover patients.... . Our testing of Coviu and Physitrack has now satisfied us that we can transition to Telehealth consults from next Monday. We will contact patients with appointments to confirm details and explain the Telehealth access process. Initially we will be offering appointments on Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 9am, with the last appointment at 4pm. If these times are not suitable please let us know and we will see what we can do. Our intention is to attend the clinic to provide treatment support such as product sales and pick-ups, and strapping if required. . It was announced this morning that Private Health Insurers WILL fund Physio 1 on 1 Telehealth video consultations from April 14 under certain conditions. See the APA Media Release for details. https://australian.physio//australian-health-funds-announc It would have been simpler for them to allow everything within the normal guidelines, but its a start. Prominent absences include new ligament sprains/muscle strains/tendinopathies, post-fracture treatment when surgery was not required, acute spinal pain etc. A Doctors referral is required for coverage of new condition referrals, which we believe is unnecessary given that we have been first contact practitioners since 1976! This also adds to the GPs workload and we believe that any new measures should be doing the opposite. Please consider emailing your Insurer to lobby for these changes!! They are more likely to listen to the demands of their members at this time than anyone else. . With daily changes in the rebate situation there is a degree of uncertainty in fee structuring for Telehealth video consultations, so please follow future updates. We will provide the first Telehealth session free for each patient. The amount covered through your private health rebate will be determined by your health fund, and should be the same as you would currently receive for in-rooms treatment. Under the new arrangements, patients will be required to pay the full fee prior to consultation (generally by credit card over the phone) then claim the rebate back from their health fund using the receipt provided by us. . A reminder to WorkCover patients that Telehealth video consultations are covered by WorkCover as long as both you and your Workcover Case Manager are happy with the arrangement. 20.01.2022 Heres a preview for those lucky enough to have scored Comm Games tickets for the Track Cycling. Had a great afternoon enjoying the racing from up close and touring the facilities prior to the Games. Physio staff will be operating from a combined medical team room one level below the viewing level concourse, so we wont have a view like this onto the track. Its particularly cool to stand at the rails at either end of the track and look down the steepest banking. It looks like a cliff face but I was told its 43.5 degrees.

16.01.2022 A huge shout-out to our buddy Carlo Tonini today. Hes just landed in Antarctica and at 1am Brisbane time tonight he will run the Antarctic Ice Marathon. Yes, a regular 42 km marathon in -20 degrees temperature with only penguins as spectators to cheer them on! Carlo is raising money for cancer research through his Worlds Biggest Dinner, running marathons on every continent to raise awareness and support for his cause. Steve and Li will be promoting the benefits of Nordic Walking and showing off the latest Leki poles while Physios Val and Chen will be demonstrating and explaining the use of our brand new, hi-tech wearable movement sensor technology - ViMove2! If you want to know how to make the most of a spare ten minutes each day then drop in to the Festival stall or the main practice and collect a copy. Sometimes there is a $220-250 outlay for MRI, which may influence some patients and GP's, but if you are seeing a specialist they will often want the MRI done anyway. 09.01.2022 : Dear patients, in relation to the recent outbreak of Coronavirus COVID-19, we have further tightened our infection control measures: If you have an appointment and feel unwell with any symptoms that could be attributed to a virus or head cold (fever, cough, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, shortness of breath, vomiting, diarrhoea), we ask that you call us to cancel your appointment. Our usual 24 hr cancellation fee will be waived in case of illness.... If you have recently been to any overseas country we ask that you do not attend the clinic for 14 days following your return to Australia. Please call us for clarification of your particular circumstances if you wish to. We have anti-bacterial soap to hand wash or hand sanitiser gel on our front counter and ask that all patients use one of these methods on entry to the clinic. We will be increasing our wiping down of all surfaces, door handles and gym equipment in order to sanitise all passive surfaces. We will refrain from shaking your hand on entry and ask that you do the same. If our staff feel unwell from a respiratory illness, we have asked them to not attend the clinic, and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We always wash our hands between every patient and this will not change. We hope these measures will ensure our clinic is a safe place to have your physiotherapy issues cared for and we will update you should there be any change to these measures.
