22.01.2022 We recently held our Year 7 Orientation, as we welcomed new faces to the College with the support of existing students There were lots of classes and activities held to give students an idea of what Year 7 has in store for them at the College in 2021, such as drama classes cooking lessons science experiments and playing games in the Barrie Holmes Stadium as they got to know more about their classmates for next year! Students loved the opportunity to learn more about their classrooms and the College grounds, we look forward to welcoming you all back to the College for 2021



22.01.2022 Congratulations to Year 11 student Oscar Adams, who has made the 2021 SANFL Torrens University State Talent Hub Part of the new AFL Talent Pathway program, Oscar recently attended an elite high-performance program with a four-day training camp at Thebarton Oval. Well done Oscar!

22.01.2022 Day 6 of '12 Days of Christmas' Based on the popular children's song ‘Baby Shark’, our youngest performers were happy to learn the Christmas song ‘Santa Shark’ The students are from Years 1 and 2 and are led by Bec Hudson and Beth Creedy

22.01.2022 This week we held our Year 8 Orientation, as we saw some familiar faces and welcomed some new ones too! There were lots of classes and activities held to give students an idea of what Year 8 has in store for them at the College in 2021, such as cooking food making rockets playing games in the Barrie Holmes Stadium making music and movie specials effects makeup while learning more about their classmates for next year! A great opportunity for students to familiarise themselves with their classrooms and the College grounds, we look forward to welcoming you all back to the College for 2021

21.01.2022 Day 7 of '12 Days of Christmas' The Year 6/7 band have developed from the Year 5 band immersion program that the College provides, this is an enthusiastic group of young musicians directed by Tameka Nube Enjoy their performance of "Deck the Rockin' Halls"

19.01.2022 Last Term we saw the return of ‘The Drawing Club’, with a group of Year 6 boys joining the fight against Motor neurone disease (MND). Students Jeremy Mackenzie, Jack Holmes, Max Lynn and Archie Aitken wanted to raise enough money to help find a cure for MND The boys wrote a story for different age groups, for which the students then had to draw an illustration for. The boys managed to raise over $100 for Fight MND! Well done to these students on raising money for such a noble cause



18.01.2022 We recently welcomed a special guest to the College; as we had a visit from Santa Claus! Santa visited our College to spread some festive spirit coming up to Christmas, as he put a smile on the faces of all students and staff

17.01.2022 Day 5 of '12 Days of Christmas' The Brass Ensemble are aged from Year 5 to Year 9, this ensemble gives them the opportunity to work in a small group where they learn to balance their part with other instruments, they are directed by Tameka Nube. Enjoy their performance of 'Away in a Manger'

16.01.2022 Congratulations to Year 10 student Makinlee Futcher, as she has won a Chinese Language Teachers Association of South Australia (CLTASA) award this year Makinlee was nominated for this award for the outstanding way in which she approaches her studies of Chinese. She has shown a high level of interest in Chinese and Asian culture, shown great respect for her teacher and classmates and she applies herself to her studies of Chinese, allowing her to achieve excellent results. Well done, Makinlee!

16.01.2022 The Junior Poplars class recently celebrated the warm weather with a visit to Port MacDonnell The small town really put it on for the visit with sensational weather conditions for adventuring, sandcastle building, paddling, and searching for the most beautiful sea shells Sandcastles were beautifully decorated and surrounded by moats, as students also found sea urchins and lots of different types of shells. Students were delighted to have some sandy fun!

15.01.2022 This morning we held our Senior School Awards Ceremony for 2020, and what an exceptional event it was! With the current restrictions on numbers, we were able to hold a modified ceremony, and offered the livestream so that family members could join us remotely and be a part of the morning. 13.01.2022 What do you get when you combine a passionate, talented teacher with inspired students? Dafydd Ryan and Riley Stevens in Year 9 Academy of Hospitality delivered these wonderful mixed truffle treats. They are scrumptious! Students in Academy have spent the last few weeks exploring Christmas cookery and have also made and decorated Christmas cakes and shortbread Christmas trees Boxes of mixed truffles were sold through the Sugarloaf Café in Week 7 of Term 4. How good is it that students are producing cuisine of an industry standard!

12.01.2022 Today we held our annual Senior School Awards assembly, as we welcomed many special guests to present awards to our deserving students, as recognition for the high-levels of success they have achieved in their subjects We were proud to offer a livestream to parents and caregivers that were unable to attend the assembly, for them to be able to view from the comfort of their home or workplace A big thank you to VideoLive for livestreaming our event Congratulations to all our award and scholarship winners on their outstanding achievements

11.01.2022 Our Year 7 students were recently treated to a beautiful day out in Beachport as a part of their Year 7 experience While at Beachport, students spent time learning how to stand-up paddle board with Stillwater Paddleboards The students had a lot of fun, and even had the opportunity to paddle with two friendly dolphins on the day Students and staff also headed out to Wiwuni Camp grounds, staying overnight and discovering the traditions of the Aboriginal people of the South East, the Boandik People. They learnt about Boandik connection to country and discovered Boandik knowledge, such as tools, foods, culture and dance Students had opportunities to explore the land and vegetation, engaging in Biodiversity awareness and flora and fauna identification

11.01.2022 We recently held our Year 12 Graduation, as we celebrated our Class of 2020 The formal ceremony took place in the Barrie Holmes Stadium, as we presented students with their hard-earned graduation certificates Attendees enjoyed the photo wall with their friends and family musical performances from our students and a photo slideshow of their schooling years Students then travelled to the Barn on specially-decorated buses, for a meal with their peers and to let loos...e as they marked the end of their secondary schooling! What a special night to commemorate the hard work our Year 12's have put in this year, we couldn't be more proud of you. 10.01.2022 Day 8 of '12 Days of Christmas' Two of our choirs joined together to perform this Christmas song, students from Music Connection Choir (Years 6-7) and Concert Choir (Years 8-12) worked hard to learn this song in 3-part harmony, the combined choirs sounded fantastic together Enjoy their performance of 'When Hope Came Down'

09.01.2022 In preparation of our Year 9 students going on their 9SHINE camp this weekend, students have been busy preparing for this unique experience by upskilling themselves with outdoor activities Activities included lightweight backpacking walks around Marist Park, tent-pitching and ‘rescue’ challenges, ‘great races’, basic first-aid workshops and camp cooking After an introductory lesson on how to operate the Trangia (a lightweight stove), the ‘Master chef’ challenge was given to students to prepare and cook (and yes have to eat!) a meal. Pizza steak sandwiches pasta dishes hamburgers and tacos were part of the mix of things on the menu

07.01.2022 Today our Year 9 and 10 students travelled to Penola to compete in the Festival of Sport! The Festival of Sport is a participation-based event that encourages students to try new sports such as Ultimate Frisbee Touch Football and Volleyball All teams enjoyed the day playing in a fair and competitive manner, learning many new skills and experiencing a range of different sports. Well done to everyone involved!

07.01.2022 Our Early Learning and Community Centre children have been focusing on the biblical story 'Noah’s Ark' They have enjoyed constructing boats and testing them to determine if they would float, placing two of each animal on the Ark and creating floods and rainbows Children also created beautiful images of the story with God, Noah, Animals, the Ark, the flood and a Rainbow

07.01.2022 Students recently enjoyed a Puzzles and Challenge session in the library at lunch time, that involved students using cardboard prism-cut shapes to build a free-standing construction Participants were given 15 prism-shaped pieces of cardboard with slots cut in them to build a tower, with a cut in all 5 sides allowing it to be joined to other cards by sliding them together. Whoever built the highest tower was the winner! Students loved building towers with their friends

We're so grateful to these people for acknowledging the achievements of our Year 12's who have done it tough this year. 05.01.2022 Our recent 'Handmade Bookmark' sale was a huge success, with almost every single bookmark selling out! A wonderful team of Year 3 artists have been hand drawing and making bookmarks for 2 full terms. With hundreds sold, they raised an amazing $120 All proceeds will be donated to the South East Animal Welfare League Mount Gambier in time for Christmas Well done to students on raising money for a great cause

04.01.2022 Day 1 of the 9SHINE Outdoor Experience began early this morning departing TWC prior to 8am. Students have travelled to the Fleurieu Peninsula and got stuck into their activities straight away. Students will be participating in activities such as bush walking, kayaking, mountain bike riding, snorkeling, high ropes and surfing. 04.01.2022 This week at the College we celebrated PE Week, as we promoted and celebrated the importance of Health and PE in the Australian Curriculum with a series of dedicated events There was a large number of special PE class activities, off-campus carnivals and competitions, lunchtime events and a series of Come ’N’ try activities Students loved getting involved in basketball soccer volleyball and lawn bowls (to name a few!) with their friends to promote the importance of Health and PE
