24.01.2022 Grade 6 pennant team for our final at Eltham. Due to inclement weather last week the matches had to be played over 2 weekends. Lost marginally today but a great season. Thanks to all of our team of 8

23.01.2022 Courts fixed thanks to Eddie our powerhouse Mr Fixit....Round one action continued today with Dimitri versus Thai with the young legs winning in straight. Yesterday Gabriel defeated Rod and James defeated Josh....more action next weekend as round 2 and some of the seeds start their matches.

22.01.2022 Right now at Hawksburn tennis club, if not showing symptoms members are welcome to play. By practicing distance requirements, not sharing or touching other equipment, no handshaking etc. and hand washing tennis is s great way to maintain normality within existing govt. guidelines. Of course, in the future things may change.... All the best for the moment.

22.01.2022 As of 2nd April in accordance with Victorian Health directive we are permitted to and have opened one court for member play. While singles or doubles was not specified we have adopted singles hitting only and strict guidelines for entry exit and social distancing.

22.01.2022 You may be aware that there are four affiliated Bayside clubs with mens and womens teams in Tennis Victoria Premier League competition. Each of those clubs will host a Super Round, with all teams in their division playing at one location. Premier League is the top level of the Victorian competition pathway, and it is also extremely entertaining tennis! It is huge accomplishment to put together a team of the calibre required for the competition. Here are the Bayside club ...round details: 10/11, 1 pm Beaumaris Lawn TC combined mens and womens round 15/11, 4 pm Royal South Yarra Lawn TC combined mens and womens round 17/11, 1 pm MCC Glen Iris Valley TC womens round 22/11, 4 pm Kooyong Lawn TC combined mens and womens round

20.01.2022 From England comes this HTC tennis tie clasp trophy for Mens Doubles 1929...................well the HTC is relevant There maybe even a G involved and I think reads large letter first so GHTC

19.01.2022 Some very large shots, particularly lobs, frequently occur at Hawksburn so maybe these extra large racquets would come in handy?

19.01.2022 Our little club raised funds for many years by holding an ANNUAL CINDERELLA BALL.....quite the local event over some decades....1912 was the first year, although they may not have had courts. We celebrated the 100th year on the basis that it was in 1913 that the land and courts were officially handed over to the committee to manage.

19.01.2022 If you would like to help vote for Michael Logarzo to win a coaching award, which I think is deserved please vote on the pag eby adding his name in comments https://www.facebook.com/wtcatennis/posts/3238231472892900

18.01.2022 When Hawksburn Tennis Club was formed back in 1913 they also used to conduct a CINDERELLA BALL at local town halls in Prahran. The purpose was to raise funds. To find this nice invitation from a club which was not to far away is a real treat.

18.01.2022 Sorry to inform the club has closed in accordance with Tennis Victoria request.

17.01.2022 Congrats to Zoe Hives for making the 2nd round in the Oz Open singles and todays 3 set win in the 1st round of the doubles. Talking with our club coach Michael, this valuable experience has lit a fire in Zoe to train harder knowing that she can mix with best. Her mate Kim Birrell is now in the 3rd round so we are pleased to see newcomers reach these fantastic levels. Michael in blue from the coaches box oversees Zoes singles match which she lost in the 2nd round against the 19th seed.

10.01.2022 One of the very early tennis clubs in the area began in 1884 with the acquisition of land opposite the South Yarra railway station. Since, they have moved to the lower end of Williams Rd Toorak. The old courts were converted into parkland in the early 1920s but are undergoing a new transition as part of new met rail tunnel project.

10.01.2022 This is Darcy. She is coached at our club and over the weekend winning her matches 6-3 in singles and a first time ever doubles also 6-3. Club members love seeing Darcy hitting the ball so well under the solid guidance of coaches, Michael and Diego. Keep up the good work. Well done coaches.

08.01.2022 Back in the 1990's the old clubhouse was replaced by a new design which exists today. Thankfully, then President David Cran was an architect and over a period of years funds were raised to create what exists today.

04.01.2022 Mains water copper pipe fractured not sure why but presumably an earlier install knock... All fixed thanks to Eddie and his, now our, excellent plumber and the high tech leak detection man armed with a couple of interesting ground penetrating and listening devices...which pinpointed the dig spot.
