24.01.2022 Tennis Queensland is excited to announce the introduction of the inaugural Female Future Leaders program for 2020. With significant financial support from Tennis Australia, the program has been introduced as a way to support and build confidence in young women who are vital to both the future of governance in our sport but also in mentoring younger players to remain in our game. As we know, attracting and retaining females in our sport is a big challenge and we need to ...ensure we continue to provide opportunities for young females to flourish and build our sport. Through the Female Future Leaders Program we aim to: - Build confidence of young women in number of areas (leading, public speaking, mentoring) - Establish resilience in overcoming difficult situations - Build relationships and networking opportunities for important future job and career progression - Provide Tennis specific education both on and off the tennis court Everyone meet our very own Kasey Blake. Kasey is the only representative from the Northern region who has been selected in the Female Leaders Program. Congratulations Kasey and we hope you have the best time and learn a lot throughout this journey!

20.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS Awesome effort to all the clubs who have been successful obtaining funding in what has been a trying year for everyone. The North Region clubs were recipients a wide range of Grants and Funding that was available this year. Some of the opportunities available this year were COVID Kickstart, GCBF and the Active Restart Infrastructure Recovery Fund which saw 10 Clubs receive a combined value of over $96,000. Congratulations again to the Clubs and their Committees.

03.01.2022 So many first time tennis players were exposed to our sport in a fun team tennis approach. A range of Red Ball Competitions were held in Townsville last year at multiple clubs. These events used the same format with 16 kids per court using mini nets, modified balls and playing singles and doubles with music blasting. Thanks to Tennis Townsville, Western Suburbs and Kalynda Chase Regional Tennis Centre for the use of your wonderful facilities!
