03.01.2022 Hey you analytical types (that's the cool kids like us!) - just saw this series and noticed something interesting about the PAIR that it's bowled on. I've marked all of the frames bowled on the LEFT lane with a green star to help. Strikes: 9 Left (56% of attempts) , 16 Right (88%) 10-pins: Just one on the Right lane 9-pins: THREE, all on the left... Other leaves on the left: 2-8, 2-4-8-10,3-6-10,3-4-6-7-10 Other leave on the right: 6-7-10 To recap, that's one 10-pin and a typically high hit leave on the right. On the left lots of leaves that are typically light on the head pin. My guess is that the head pin was being spotted slightly to the left, causing the ball not to deflect into the 9 consistently and causing the washout-style leaves. Also possible but less likely in my opinion is that the left lane was skidding a bit longer, but that should leave more 8-pins than 9-pins. All of this assuming it's a right hander too of course. Apparently a big difference on that pair for that night!
