23.01.2022 The rules concerning balance holes in bowling balls changes as from 1st August 2020. Please refer to the below information to make sure you comply with the new regulations. TBA Rule 603 was revised to define the current balance rules, with the new rules taking effect from August 1, 2020. From August 1, 2020, no balance holes will be permitted.... If you currently have balls drilled with balance holes in them, you may use them legally until August 1, 2020, as long as the ball has only one balance hole when making a delivery. You will have until that date (August 1, 2020) to plug any additional non-gripping holes. (This includes drilled thumb holes for no-thumb bowlers, as that is technically not a gripping hole used each delivery.)
22.01.2022 Important information from TBA regarding upcoming national events.

15.01.2022 OAKLEY WINS INAUGURAL STRIKE 3 TASMANIA TITLE Strike 3 came alive at Zone Bowling Moonah on Saturday and the new concept delivered on its vision straight out of... the box. Exciting, entertaining and a number of sudden death finishes all played out in the first TBA accredited tournament run by Strike 3 Bowling. Whilst the field of entries was less than expected, a good crowd turned out to watch the tournament from start to finish, which took just a tick over two hours! Unheard of in traditional bowling, the format saw two pools of eight players play each other before the top four from each pool took each other on, knockout style. At the conclusion of the round robin, Michael Sheppard topped Pool B and Callum Jackson led Pool A, both with 6-1 records to their name. Joining them in the quarter finals was a great mix of experienced and inexperienced players ready to pounce and claim the $1,000 on offer to the winner. The Quarter Finals saw both top seeds eliminated with Sheppard losing to Pool A 4th seed, Jason Featherstone and Jackson losing to Pool B 4th seed, Stuart Pace. The other matches saw Paul Oakley move past Aiden Wedge, playing his first scratch tournament, and Andrew Phillips, returning to the sport after many years, beating the inexperienced Ashton King. The Semi-Finals matched Oakley up against Pace and Phillips up against Featherstone. The experienced and in form Rachuig player made light work of the inexperienced Pace to be first through to the final. The semi between Phillips & Featherstone was a different matter with both players using their large shots to cause havoc and uncertainty, coming down to a golden strike, where by virtue of a higher seeding position in the round robin, gave Phillips one chance to seal the match, and seal it he did, in destroying the pocket and moving to the final. The Final was worthy of the pressure the Strike 3 format automatically delivers on. No time for misses and no time to recover if you do, with Phillips striking the first blow in the best of two final, cleaning up the match in just four shots. Oakley knew it was now or never, and as he has done many times before, stepped up with his own shot making, and in what was just minutes, sent the match to Golden Strike. In a fitting finale, just one strike was now needed to decide who took the $1,000 home and a free entry to the 2020 Strike 3 World Championship. Again, by virtue of a higher seeding after the round robin, Oakley had right of way and a single chance to seal the victory. It however wasnt to be, as the pressure was immense and the crowd watched in silence, Oakley pulling the shot high. This gave Phillips not one, but two chances to seal a tournament win after only returning to the sport just a month ago. The first shot missed, the pressure continuing to build, then the second shot also sailed past, Phillips shattered by his missed chances. The advantage returned to Oakley, who took a deep breath, grabbed his moment, and threw a perfect shot to rip the 10 pin off the deck and claim the Strike 3 Tasmania title. Thanks must go to all who played, especially those who travelled down from the north of Tasmania, Zone Bowling and the spectators who came along to watch all the action, making for a great day. It is early days for the Strike 3 concept but excitement like never seen before is guaranteed at this years first ever Strike 3 World Championship. More on this coming soon. #strike3worldchampionship #tenpinbowling #strike3bowling
