06.01.2022 July 20, Tenterfield Fire and Rescue Station 457 Tanker and crew attended this caravan fire east of Tenterfield on the Bruxner Highway. Close call for the family towing this caravan as they managed to uncouple the car from caravan before it became fully involved with fire! NSW Police with NSW Ambulance and RFS Barney Downs also in attendance. Fortunately no persons were injured in this incident.

02.01.2022 Station 457 attended reports of a house fire in Nass Street late Saturday evening. On arrival 457 crews in breathing apparatus entered the property partially filled with smoke, finding fire damage to bedding inside a bedroom. Crews removed the bedding from bedroom and fully extinguished it outside. It is believed the fire had started from the use of an electric blanket with clothes and additional items on top of the bed whilst using the electric blanket. Items on top of the bed whilst using an electric can induce "hotspots", causing the uneven heat distribution through out the bed to the point if ignition. Quick response and action from Station 457 certainly helped avert a much worse outcome. Additional information regarding the use of electric blankets can be found on FRNSW website.
