25.01.2022 Today this is my ‘office on the fly’ - En route from Taroom to home, working with Mitch online, getting stuff ready for our next event and some social media content. For me this is one of the joys of designing my own business. I get to work when and where I choose. ... The key criteria is good internet coverage and enough charge in my phone. Good coffee is a huge bonus! One of my dreams has been to create a business where I can still be available to support my family, and be there for them physically. I can’t say I always perfect that, but I am very happy to say that flexibility is a key driving factor in how I choose to continue to develop what I do.

22.01.2022 "A ship is safe in the harbour, but that is not what ships are built for." The harbour is seen as safe. It's protected and predictable and has easy access to all sorts of help when required.... The harbour is the perfect place to stop for rest and repairs, but it's not the place where the bounty will be found. A fishing vessel often needs to travel many, many miles from its harbour to catch its haul, and be willing to face all kinds of hazards on its journey. And so do we as business owners. So many of us are working in industries where physical danger is not a part of our every day, however we still need to leave our personal harbour in order to find the bounty we are searching for. We need to step out and put ourselves into uncomfortable situations in order to grow our business. The harbour is for rest and recuperation. Don't live there. See more

On the way home from a wonderful weekend in Brisbane, celebrating our eldest becoming an adult, we were able to drop into the brand new Hairessence salon in Gatton. This beautiful space is the newest incarnation belonging to Cassie Morris. ... Not only has this lady been a friend and the best hairdresser a girl could ask for (for almost ten years), Cassie was also the first client for my business, and a big reason why I started when I did - and I’m so so grateful!! To see the transformation and growth she has created in her life and her business while we were working together and since has been so exciting to see! Congratulations Cassie! I’m so proud of you
