25.01.2022 If you are in QLD or ACT and travelling home via NSW, you need a permit. You can drive through NSW or fly and transit at airports - but do not leave the airpor...t. You must keep a record of locations where you have stopped for breaks in NSW and monitor for symptoms of COVID-19. If you have symptoms, get tested and stay home until you receive a negative result. You are not required to quarantine for 14 days if you have followed the rules for transiting through NSW. These rules include minimising stops and contact with others, wearing a mask when outside your vehicle at all times. If you are travelling to Victoria from QLD and wish to stay overnight in NSW to break your journey you will be required to apply for an exemption. For full details see: https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/travel-restrictions-new- If you have questions, call the hotline 1800 675 393, available 24/7. #COVID19Vic

22.01.2022 The festive season is meant to be a time of joy, but for many people it can be a time of stress and anxiety. The following mental health services are available 24/7.
21.01.2022 This week is Speech Pathology Week (23rd 29th August). This years' theme is 'Communicating with Confidence'. Communicating with confidence is vital to enable everyone to participate fully in the social, educational, economic and sporting aspects of community life. There are 1.2 million Australians with communication disability. Speech pathologists study, diagnose and treat communication disorders, including difficulties with speaking, listening, understanding language, r...eading, writing, social skills, stuttering and using voice. They work with people who have difficulty communicating because of developmental delays, stroke, brain injuries, learning disability, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, dementia and hearing loss, as well as other problems that can affect speech and language. People who experience difficulties swallowing food and drink safely can also be helped by a speech pathologist. If you would like to discuss making an appointment to see our Speech Pathologist, contact the Josie Black Community Health Centre on 5592 0300 or the Mortlake Community Health Centre on 5558 7007.

20.01.2022 Charles Bean landed with the Australian troops on Gallipoli on April 25, 1915. He stayed with them at the front through the entire war, refusing evacuation when he was wounded. At Pozieres the following year he was witness to 23,000 Australian casualties in just six weeks. A dying Australian asked him, Will they remember me in Australia?". By observing one minute's silence we pay tribute to the men and women who have served and are still serving in our defence forces and remember those who have died or suffered in conflicts, wars and peacekeeping operations. #WeRememberThem

13.01.2022 Today is R U OK? Day. It’s our national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, Are you OK? if someone in your world is struggling with life’s ups and downs. Got a feeling that someone you know or care about it isn’t behaving as they normally would? Perhaps they seem out of sorts? More agitated or withdrawn? Or they’re just not themselves. Trust that gut instinct and act on it.... By starting a conversation and commenting on the changes you’ve noticed, you could help that family member, friend or workmate open up. For resources and support on how to have the conversation, visit: https://www.ruok.org.au/

12.01.2022 The risk of coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission is highest where people are close to each other, and in enclosed spaces. This time of year, we often find ourse...lves catching up with many people, or shopping, often in relatively confined spaces. That’s why it is more important than ever that you wear a face mask in situations when you are unable to stay more than 1.5 metres from other people. 09.01.2022 Appreciation post. TMHS would like to say a huge thank you to Jen Brittain (Health Care Worker) for making cloth masks for all of our consumers at the Josie Black Community Health Centre Social Support Group. Jen made well over 200 masks in total, including some for staff. Each consumer received two specially made masks as part of their care packs during lockdown in August. Staff members donated the quality material to make the masks.... Louise Coverdale (Environmental Services Assistant) has also been busy making masks and selling them at Reicha's in Terang, with all proceeds going to the hospital. Fantastic job ladies! A heartfelt thank you for all that you're doing. Pictured: Jo (left) and Jen (right) packing masks into care packs for consumers.
09.01.2022 To help stop the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), all residents and travellers wishing to enter Victoria must apply for a permit. Areas will be designated gree...n, orange or red zones by the Chief Health Officer based on public health advice. Restrictions will apply for different zones. Based on current health advice, here are the different zones: http://coronavirus.vic.gov.au/travelpermits From 6pm today travellers arriving into Victoria from anywhere in Australia will have to follow these directions. This system is about a strong and simple framework to protect what we have all achieved here in Victoria. It will make it easier for travellers to determine their eligibility for a permit and the conditions that apply. You will be able to apply for a permit online at http://service.vic.gov.au or by calling the Coronavirus hotline.

08.01.2022 This week is NAIDOC Week (8th 15th November) NAIDOC Week is usually held in the first week of July that incorporates the second Friday which historically was celebrated as 'National Aboriginal Day'. In 2020, NAIDOC Week was postponed due to the impacts and uncertainty of the escalating Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. NAIDOC Week is about celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC originally stood for ‘Nation...al Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee’. This committee was once responsible for organising national activities during NAIDOC Week and its acronym has since become the name of the week itself. The theme of NAIDOC Week 2020; ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’ recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. For more information about NAIDOC Week, visit: https://www.naidoc.org.au/ #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC
