22.01.2022 The Good Sports Program The Good Sports program is designed to support clubs within their community. The Good Sports Program, like all of us love sports at all levels and love community clubs getting together to have a game, old timers who bleed for their team, up-and-comers putting in the hard yards and professional athletes at the top of their games. Good Sports clubs are a valuable asset to their community. Terang Athletic Club has recently achieved Level 3 accreditation t...o ensure long-term success for our community. Our program provides clear policies that ensure our members, athletes and community are safe. Good Sports has been proven to reduce harm and positively influence health behaviours, as well as strengthen club membership and boost participation. We work together with clubs to prevent and minimise the harm caused by alcohol and other drugs. The Good Sports program is implemented voluntarily through community sporting clubs; helping clubs to promote healthier, safer and more family-friendly environments. The core Good Sports program has been helping community sporting clubs to control the use of alcohol and to promote healthy behaviours such as healthy eating and smoke free environments for nearly two decades. Implemented in almost 9,000 community sporting clubs, Good Sports is supported by the latest evidence and has the scope and experience to deliver positive outcomes, improve the health of communities and strengthen the sustainability of grass roots clubs. Terang Athletic Club is proud to be a Level 3 accredited Good Sports Club.

15.01.2022 Congratulations to our very own Terang Athletic Coach Caytlyn Sharp! In last weekend’s Victorian Championships, Cayty won the Open Para Long Jump, was 1st in the U20 Para 100m and 7th in the able bodied U20 Long Jump. Cayty equaled her own Para Australian record when competing in the able bodied Long Jump, jumping the impressive jump of 4.96m. Cayty will go onto the National Championships in just under 3 weeks and we wish her all the very best as she continues to train hard to give her the best chance of qualifying for the Tokyo Olympic Games in the Para Long Jump. Congratulations Caytlyn and keep up the fantastic work!
