25.01.2022 This was my very first ever lead role with Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Victoria. Before getting out on stage my anxiety was debilitating... but I did it. It was the first time I truly realised no one would notice if I stuffed up. In the wings I coached myself into thinking that if I did make a mistake - I would make the best bloody mistake that ever lived and own it. It took away the power that it had over me and was a personal leap forward for me. I have many fond memories o...f doing this production and working with so many wonderful people. Groups like this are essential to young singers' development and to those who love to make music and be part of a community. These types of groups are doing it tough right now and I really encourage you to support them if you can by buying their DVD's, sharing their content or donating to them directly. #FlashbackFriday

21.01.2022 Thank you Andrea Katz for the incredible accompaniment and also our neighbour Laurence for capturing this moment from last weekend’s Balcony Opera Laurence Strangio Andrea Katz

20.01.2022 Studying Countess Almaviva role right now and came across this funny little video on Le Nozze di Figaro. It really is a ridiculous story (ooo controversial!) but oh how I love it

19.01.2022 Victoria needs a little positivity right now. Please comment and share any happy music stories you might have to help you through today Here is a little more of our balcony opera story AND it's worth listening to more of Jacinta Parson's show. I'd be happy to provide some of the entertainment with Lisette Bolton - Soprano and many many many more artists at the post-covid bbq they're planning https://www.abc.net.au//af/lockdown-balcony-opera/12519420

16.01.2022 Having been inspired by all of the interior design shows I’ve been watching during lockdown - here’s our new little music nook under the stairs.

16.01.2022 Surprisingly one of the fun aspects of balcony opera is deciding what to sing an hour before. It’s my version of extreme sports. It means our rep is unpracticed and sometimes we have to deal with the consequences, esp when singing to an accompaniment you’ve never heard before. Today’s Balcony Opera delivered that consequence brilliantly - I sang Britten’s The Sally Gardens as a birthday pressie for one of our neighbours - the backing track I found just before turned out to ...be a 5th below the original key which I discovered when I started singing. Needless to say my middle voice got a workout Ana

16.01.2022 Thankful for my virtual trainers Stacey and Cat during ISO

15.01.2022 Balcony opera is a gift that keeps on giving. Tomorrow Lisette Bolton - Soprano and I will perform on Weekend Sunrise Balcony opera is a gift that keeps on giving. Tomorrow Lisette Bolton - Soprano and I will perform on Weekend Sunrise

15.01.2022 That time when you find yourself singing Mimi outside and you think staring into the sun whilst you sing "il primo sole è mio" would be a good idea

14.01.2022 A first! I got to sing for my work colleagues today as part of a wellbeing initiative where staff can share skills and/or exercise classes and the like. So I gave them a little concert - had so much fun teaching them about classical voice and opera

13.01.2022 Here is a sneak peak of my new website https://www.teresaingrilli.com.au. It's early days and I'll launch it officially further down the COVID track when we get a better idea of how the arts industry will look. Feedback always welcome x

07.01.2022 One of the exciting projects to come out of this pandemic

03.01.2022 Lisette Bolton - Soprano and I have created a group for Balcony Opera, where we'll share snippets our lockdown concerts. Please join the group :) https://www.facebook.com/groups/331210581388721 PS. We're also on instagram - search @Balcony Opera

03.01.2022 Thanks to our neighbours, family and friends for the behind the scenes photos and for all their support. I love sharing opera and classical music stories, facts and melodies. I love singing for them and I love that it brings so much joy to all. Of course straight after Sunrise we did our balcony opera for this weekend. Keep on singing! #stage4lockdown #stayhome #staysafe by Charlotte
