24.01.2022 B A L A N C E Life balance is about giving proper priority & perspective to all aspects of your life to keep your life upright and steady. A weekly, bi-weekly or monthly full body massage helps keep your body in check amidst the stresses of everyday life.... It’s also great way to relieve tired, strained and tense muscles. It helps to stretch them out when they have been shortened too from too much work or training. It is the one of the oldest therapies in the world so there is a great truth in it working. The ancient Greeks and Egyptians used massage as well as in China. The power of touch is very important. Yet at times we avoid looking after ourselves and usually at the time that we need to be even more so. It’s important to stop and think about what we are doing with our bodies regularly. How we sit, stand, walk, run, cycle and lay all have an impact on our body and skeletal system. This has a knock on effect on our muscular system and then onto other systems. It’s important to be aware of how we use our bodies because we get so swamped with other factors and run on auto pilot that we forget what we should be doing. See more

11.01.2022 M E E T T E R I S A Welcome to Terisa Paynter Remedial Massage! Thanks for stopping by.... I’m Terisa, a fully qualified & experienced remedial masseuse based in Port Lincoln, South Australia. A little bit about me: I moved to Port Lincoln over 30 years ago after completing my hairdressing apprenticeship with my Aunty in Cleve. Whilst my children were young I took home hairdressing jobs and worked in the fitness industry, much of that time working with special needs children. I went back to full-time hairdressing by the time my kids were in primary school when I bought a salon on Tasman Terrace in 2004. After 33 years of hairdressing, including owning Lincoln Hairshack for 15 of those years, I decided it was time to expand my skillset and add healing massage services. I’d always had a keen interest in remedial massage after frequently receiving them myself as a means to feel and be my best self. Hairdressing is a physically demanding job, being on your feet all day every day can take its toll on your body! Like most Mums and parents, I tend to put everyone’s needs before my own and would neglect my own needs so massage became a good way to give myself the love and respect it deserves. After a while, I noticed that my mind, body connection was enhancing through massage and with a dedicated routine I’m enjoying the short & long term benefits. I completed my certification three years ago and have been offering my services ever since. I’ve extended my knowledge and skills since then by including a neuromuscular technique to help as an add on to benefit my clients. From relaxation through to remedial massage I’m available Monday’s Wednesdays and Friday. Call or text 0411 590 791 Pricing: 60 minutes $70 90 minutes $105

05.01.2022 S E L F C A R E It’s so important to make sure you take good care of your body, mind, and soul every day, not just when you get sick. Learning how to eat right, reduce stress, exercise regularly, and take a time-out when you need it are touchstones of self-care and can help you anti-stress, stay healthy, and be resilient. Learning how to eat right, redu...ce stress, exercise regularly, and take a time-out when you need it are touchstones of self-care and can help you anti-stress, stay healthy, and be resilient. Although self-care means different things to different people, there’s a basic checklist that can be followed by all of us: Create a no list, with things you know you don’t like or you no longer want to do. Examples might include: Not checking emails at night, not attending gatherings you don’t really want to go to, not answering your phone during lunch/dinner. Promote a nutritious, healthy diet. Get enough sleep. Adults usually need 7-10 hours of sleep each night. Invest in a stress reducing full-body massage once per week. Exercise. In contrast to what many people think, exercise is as good for our emotional health as it is for our physical health. It increases serotonin levels, leading to improved mood and energy. In line with the self-care conditions, what’s important is that you choose a form of exercise that you like! Follow-up with medical care. It is not unusual to put off checkups or visits to the doctor. Use relaxation exercises and/or practice meditation. You can do these exercises at any time of the day but early morning and nighttime are best. Prioritize quality fun time with your loved ones. Do at least one relaxing activity every day, whether it’s taking a walk or spending 30 minutes unwinding. Do at least one pleasurable activity every day; from going to the cinema, to cooking or meeting with friends. Look for opportunities to laugh! See more
