10.01.2022 The Coptotermes Nest only became obvious after the owners arrived home from a 2 week break, it was located behind & protruding from, the cornice. The termites entered the home from a concealed infill slab floor and traveled up between the plaster and the brick wall. The most difficult side of conventional inspections are they rely on a visual inspection and sounding method only, they do this via a tapping method to skirting boards, window sills and door frames. This method wo...nt tell you if a nest is inside the wall cavity unless its obvious and even if any nest, termite activity or damage was located at the time of inspection, a further invasive inspection would then be performed. This invasive inspection generally involves drilling holes, removing timbers or cutting away the plaster to investigate further, inturn causing additional damage and repair cost in the process, a cost that would not have been required using our thermal technology.
