25.01.2022 Customised Access Table for a Melbourne school’s outdoor learning space. The Nunawading Christian College in Melbourne, Victoria, is a well-known education institution and provides opportunities for all student to develop intellectually, spiritually, socially and physically. The college commissioned Terrain Group to supply Access Table Setting at a custom height and colour.... The table settings have been installed in the Early Learning section of the institution and therefore the height had to be in accordance with the children using the setting. The Access Table and Spectator Bench setting was customised to younger children’s height to accomodate them in an outdoor learning space. Blaze Blue Dulux Powdercoat was used to coat the legs of the tables and benches to make it more attractive and eye-catching. Working closely with the client from initial enquiry to the supply and delivery of the product that met the clients on-site needs. Our standard product designs can be easily modified to adapt to areas where consideration of younger children using these spaces comes into account. 20.01.2022 New facilities launched at Sherlock and Peake Having worked on these projects in the South Australian towns of Sherlock and Peake, it was great to be a part of the official event opening recently. Mayor Paul Simmons and Federal Member for Barker, Tony Pasin MP, opened the new and upgraded facilities with a Community BBQ for Sherlock and Peake's local community. The event was held on Friday 18th of September at the Peake netball courts, on the Mallee Highway, in Peake. ... These projects, along with others across the Coorong district, were made possible through Drought Communities Programme Extension funding, provided by the Federal Government. These new facilities are a fantastic outcome for the Sherlock and Peake communities and visitors to the townships. Good access for wheelchairs, prams and disabled members of the communitywe should be designing to accommodate for everyone.... 04.01.2022 Top Tip For November: Maintaining your timber furniture. Timber finish in open space furniture is a common selection but we like to provide you with some essential maintenance to keep it at its best. Sunlight and outdoor elements will cause the colour to gradually fade and if left un-oiled, it will weather to a light silver-grey colour. This is natural and common with hardwood timber and is in no way detrimental to the strength of the timber, some simple maintenance will help... bring it back to its original look. Some timbers tend to ‘bleed’ a tannin. To avoid this ruining the concrete base, we pre-bleed all our timber furniture before manufacturing. This is not a guarantee, as some tannin may steel expel from the furniture when it is installed. Timber being a natural material, fine cracks in the wood may appear and disappear with changes in the weather and the consequent changes in the moisture content of the wood. Such fine cracks are normal in all hardwood and will not affect the life or serviceability of your furniture. To maintain or return the furniture to the original colour, oiling is required. Oiling Procedure: 1. Lightly sand sun affected areas such as upper surfaces with 80/100 grit paper. 2. Dust off furniture thoroughly. 3. Apply outdoor timber oil (see our recommendations below) with a lint-free cloth. Apply enough to ensure there is a residue. After approximately 15 minutes wipe the residue away (this process allows the timber to absorb the oil). Recommended Oiling Products: We recommended the use of good quality decking oil such as Sikkens Cetol. If you choose to use an alternative, ensure it contains a UV Stabiliser and anti-fungal additives. Caution: Never use linseed oil on your furniture as this oil is very susceptible to mildew growth. #timber #timberfurniture #timbermaintenance #furnituremaintenance
