25.01.2022 The trick to having happy students is to first be happy yourself! #MissionAccomplished That’s a wrap for Teacher Wellbeing week! So much colourful fun was had. We have left our students feeling warm and fuzzy after Rainbow Thursday and Flexi Fluro Friday. Our teachers are now ready to tackle the final two weeks of term 3

24.01.2022 Congratulations to the winners of the Book Week colouring competition We had hundreds of entries and our awesome judges certainly had a hard job choosing the winners. Well done and thanks to all who entered!

24.01.2022 Today our Terrigal Public School Netball team went to Breakers stadium to compete in a three school Gala Day. We played Erina Heights PS and Wamberal PS. We defeated both teams. Erina Heights 30-8 and Wamberal 34-24. It was an outstanding show of sportsmanship and teamwork by everyone. We had both experienced and new comers to netball playing in our team, but you never would have known due to their ability to step up to the plate, listen to feedback and respond to encourageme...nt. We are so proud of them all! Well Done Terrigal Public School. Miss Barnett Coach.

23.01.2022 Here are some students using our new table. This table was made by Replas. A company in Victoria that makes furniture using soft plastic. Our school collects soft plastics and kind parents deliver it to the drop off points at Coles and Woolworths. #circulareconomy Did you know that it takes approximately 75,000 items of plastic to make each table? Thank you to our environmental team for leading our school with this great initiative.

22.01.2022 Over the last few weeks at recess and lunchtime there has been a touch football competition running for Stage 3 boys and girls who trialled for the school teams. Today was the grand final between the two girls teams- Sharks and Stingrays and the two boys teams- Piranhas and the Hawks. Both games came down to nail biting finish ending in an extra time drop-off. This left both the boys and girls teams in their respective games with 3 vs. 3 to score a try. The winning teams were the Sharks in the girls and the Piranhas in the boys. Great determination, sportsmanship and teamwork were displayed by all. Thank you to Mr Krisher for his organisation of this competition and providing the opportunity for our students.

19.01.2022 TODAY WAS THE BEST! We had a Student VS Teacher touch football game at lunch time. The atmosphere was euphoric and the kids loved being spectators! Our teachers bought their A Game and the students showed awesome sportsmanship skills. Mr Burgess took his coaching role very seriously and Mrs Knowles really stole the show and was even carried off on a stretcher Thanks for organising such a fun event Mr Krisher!

18.01.2022 Last week Zara got leave from hospital to visit her classroom on her birthday! 2K and a few students from 2K and 2L performed some talents plus a play, ‘Zaralocks & The Three Reindeers’. The students pulled it all together days ahead of the originally planned performance date and put on a fabulous show for Zara and a few VIP guests. Zara smiled and giggled throughout the show and really enjoyed her short time back at school We wish you a speedy recovery Zara! We all miss you !!

13.01.2022 Over the last two weeks we’ve welcomed 7 Early Career Teachers from The University of Newcastle, Australia to TPS. These ‘teachers in training’ have been diving deep into all things primary school. Today Miss Carrier taught a fantastic PDHPE lesson on the skills used in cricket! It is always exciting to welcome the next generation of teachers into our school.

13.01.2022 Today students from TPS and THS collaborated and engaged in a range of STEM activities, coding both Micro:bits and Sphero robots. During this time, students were lucky enough to have Australian Mathematician and radio personality Adam Spencer to assist and support them whilst coding. Special thanks to Miss Nikyetta Pencheff from @_ccase for bringing the STEM process to our schools. The STEM Industry School Partnerships (SISP) Program is an initiative of the Department of Ed...ucation’s Educational Standards Directorate. SISP provides an educational model that motivates students, inspires them to study STEM and prepares them for STEM careers by creating links to Industry. See more

03.01.2022 Hi Parents and carers, like many other public schools in the state, will participate in a Department of Education initiative: the Tell Them From Me student feedback survey. You can complete the survey here: http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/tps20 The survey measures factors that are known to affect academic achievement and other student outcomes. The focus of the NSW-wide survey is on student wellbeing, engagement and effective teaching practices. You may remember that our studen...ts also participated in a Tell Them From Me student survey in Term 1 this year. Asking students to complete the survey twice in one year allows us to identify trends in student responses as well as track engagement and motivation across the school year. The survey is a great opportunity for our students to provide us with valuable and quick feedback on what they think about school life, how engaged they are with school and the different ways that teachers interact with them. More than 6,300 schools in Australia and around the world have used Tell Them From Me to survey 5.4 million students. Capturing the voices of our students will help improve how we do things at our school. More information about the survey is available at: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au I want to assure you that the survey is confidential. The survey is conducted online and will typically take less than 30 minutes to complete. It will be administered during school hours. Participating in the survey is entirely voluntary. A consent form and FAQs for parents/carers about the survey is being sent home with students on pink paper today . If you do not want your child or children to participate, please return the form to school by Monday 21 September .Copies of the form and FAQs are available from: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au/information-for-parents. The consent form and FAQs are available in 23 languages.
