25.01.2022 That time of the month again.. Monthly soot down to Bootu Creek to service and maintain the power station there for one of my biggest customers over WA. Albeit it's mostly very reliable so doesn't require a lot of attention or breakdown visits if maintained and looked after correctly. Which makes for a happier mine naturally Preventative maintenance saves reactive repairs

24.01.2022 An immaculate GU Patrol ZD30CRD on the dyno today for a custom tune. Fitted with a Unichip Australia & New Zealand, electronic boost controller and 5 map select switch. Injector's are 200000km old and found their limit very early into tuning so we stopped it here for now and are getting a set of +30s sorted to wind her up! The 5 runs are as of the map select switch 1st is high power, 2nd is 4wding, 3rd is Economy, 4th is towing, 5th is usually standard but I added boost to th...at from original as it had a manual boost controller beforehand. From 97hp ATW to 131hp ATW for now. Max boost 27psi @19:1 UniQ module, map select switch and elec boost controller JT TM Intercooler Eclipse Turbo 3" Intake pipes and air box Secondary filter and catch can Watch this space



23.01.2022 How important are injector scheduled injector changouts in late model common rail diesel? Well ill let the photos speak for themselves... 220000km old. Another 1KD, another failed injector, another cracked piston, another easily avoidable problem by maintaining your fuel system. I recommend a new set of injectors every 150000kms along with a Secondary 2 micron fuel filter for the 1KDs and they'll live life well into the half a million kms, they're a great engine if you give them what they give you. This engine will be a good thing again once it's fully rebuilt with new ceramic coated pistons, blueprinted injectors etc are in

17.01.2022 Its with great pleasure that we finally get to announce that Territory Mechanical Solutions and CB Racing are now authorised dealers for Unichip Australia & New... Zealand and their products. We've done a great deal of research in the background finding a truely versatile and effective product and the Unichip took that by a mile. In addition to the the tuning/remapping we already provide, we saw the need for a product to cater for all areas to fully provide our customers with a outcome specific to their needs and their vehicles.. What works for one may not work for another.. A great deal of the decision also come from an increasing demand for the ability to tune the 79 Series Landcruiser 1HDFTE 6 turbo, DI ZD30 Patrols and vehicles like the Kia Stinger. But V8 landcruiser owners wanting a more custom approach also, this is for you! Using one of my own work vehicles as a kick-off, I was able to achieve outstanding results just from a fully custom tune. Its a 1HDFTE 79 Series with a turbo back exhaust, and a slightly upgraded turbo but otherwise stock. Been non intercooled (for now, watch this space for some major changes) I was very conservative, keeping the boost low and AFRs around 21:1, we were able to make this vehicle wake right up, making it a whole new car to drive.. From 96kw (126hp) to 128kw (178hp) through 35" tyres! That's great power for big tyres and the tuned run with 600kg in the tray. Straight off the dyno I drove it from Darwin to Perth, and even just on the High Power map, I saw roughly 10-15% better economy and at it would reach any speed desired at a touch. Testing economy with the Unichip off was frustrating to say the least.. Note that we can set up 5 selectable maps at the touch of a finger to suit what driving you're doing. 17.01.2022 Started the weekend with 2 rebuilds to do and finished it with 5... Busy week ahead. 2x L98s, an LS3, And 2x 1KD's.. A bit of forged LS action for my Monday and then onto the KUN26 Hilux engine removeal, rebuild and tune. Enjoy

17.01.2022 See pricing estimates for 1KD/1KZ/3L/5L Rebuilds at end of post One of the 1KDs back together, back in the Hilux, 150km round test drive/data checks/initial run in completed, shes ready for tuning and to be returned to her owner for another 400000+ kms . While the engine was out I also went over and inspected the entire car, greased vehicle and adjusted the brakes. I Found a few issues so I replaced the steering column boot, Front Left CV, de-stained and cleaned the engine... bay, replaced the radiator, new throw out and spigot bearings etc. Along with the usual, new belt, pulleys, fluids and filters. Due to higher then I ever expected enquiries regarding all Toyota 4 cylinder diesel reconditioning, I've attached below pricing to save the trouble of having to wait for a quote. $5500 drop off and pick up just the engine. Fully rebuilt with Ceramic coated pistons, genuine quality or better Aust made/supplied parts ONLY, engine fully machined and head reconditioned (1KD/1KZ) $8700 drop off car and pick up car (Hilux 2005 onwards) (Prado varies) Variations may occur with the removal and install estimate depending if any further issues are found in the process. Clutch, radiator, mounts etc. Pricing isn't negotiable as I will not sacrifice quality parts for price savings. Over 10 years I have easily over 150+ engines under my belt from a lawn mowers, competition/race engines and up to 91 litre gas power generation engines and each and every one has the same pride applied to it, and I will not put my name to something I'm not happy with. 16.01.2022 An LS3 in that was unfortunately driven untuned and running exceptionally rich. This resulting in heavy fuel dilution of the oil, that eventually caused bearing failure in the bottom end. 1x big end completely spun, the rest not far off and all the main bearings had also started to pick up. Block survived luckily. Cannot stress enough the important of regular oil changes and good tuning. The results of not exercising this show here before us. Also noted upon disassembly the pickup oring had been pinched, it's lucky that didnt kill it before the water like consistency oil did...

13.01.2022 Put in some big hour's yesterday to try keep to deadlines and ensure this fresh 417ci LS3 makes it back into its beautiful VK Calais and off to Red Centre Nats. Suffered from bearing failure due to fuel dilution when I received it as a stock LS3. Keep an eye out for this one as it'll be a weapon NA combo coupled to a TH400. LS3 Block, machined and clearanced to 4" stroke... 12.01.2022 Finally got a free minute to throw the HDJ79 work bus on the dyno, and made not bad numbers for the little green wheel first gen Gturbo. Producing 248hp (185kw) @ 770nm to the wheels through 315/75 tyres on 28psi, its no slouch. Torque peaking at 2000rpm. The Unichip performing amazingly and flawless as always Unichip Australia & New Zealand. PDI intercooler keeping things cool even with the turbo fairly stretched on efficiency! I've ran this intercooler down some of the h...arshest dirt roads in Australia now and it still takes it in its stride, along with baffling temp drops when I did some testing on install. Performance Diesel Intercoolers UFI supplied +30 injectors also doing an amazing job. Armax snorkel and standard air box flowing great for these boost levels, I observed a small restriction on the dyno up top but no more then expected and no need to upgrade the box as yet See more

09.01.2022 Busy Sunday's! A freshly built 6lt came in to have a few build mistakes corrected made by a shop south that built it, along with fitting out all it's accessories ready to go back into the VZ Clubsport it belongs to. Sporting a fresh SBE, Cam, springs, FAST Manifold and 243 ported Higgens Heads, it should be a stout little mover. Just needs the injectors cleaned and checked by GJ Customs and she's good to go. 09.01.2022 And so ends my time in Nhulunbuy as contract labour hire. Met some amazing people and saw some even more amazing country, but its time to come back to Darwin and focus on some new big things I have planned. Although I dont post much of it because frankly no one cares, 90% of my work is Heavy Diesel mining, power generation, civil, road transport and auto electrical. Light vehicle and light engines are more of a passion. Thanks everyone for your overwhelming support and patience with me working away and juggling both over the last 2 years. Its all of you that have pushed me to make the jump to the next level where I said I never would. So thank you and watch this space!

07.01.2022 Must be the week for waking up the 79 series 1HDFTE's and Unichip installs. Couple of intercoolers from our friends at PDI suit 79 series, UFI 18G for 1HDFTE 4x Unichips all ready to go on and a 200 series plug and play kit on its way still along with some plus 30 injectors in the mail for an FTE. Here's to making average into awesome Dyno results to come as the installs and tuning happen

06.01.2022 Hilux all done a few weeks ago. Drive in drive out engine rebuild, few body issues rectified, CV swap and tune. Luckily all new engines go on the dyno as we had a manufacturing defect with the new turbo actuator and turbo that was picked up on on the dyno. Another actuator, some turbo vain travel adjustments, then when I was happy it was all 100%, a remap, EGR delete and she was off to the customer who took it bush directly. Tyres knock the power around a bit and she's still running in, but great results and drive ability is awesome.

04.01.2022 Unfortunately I'm still stuck in WA. But doesn't mean I haven't been and can't continue to supply parts to suit almost any application! Lately I've supplied a tonn of parts at great prices for almost any build, from diesel stock rebuilds, performance diesel rebuilds, LS standard and up to fully forged Iron block based rebuild kits, cam kits, Higgins heads, a great deal of diesel injection system components inc 12mm pumps, larger injectors, standard replacement pumps and injec...tors. Don't forget im also a dealer for Unichip, taking orders but having supply issues due to Covid dramas.. Looking to be back in stock mid to end of next month. Shoot me a message for a quote anytime. Also any EFI or common rail tuning can still be organised through CB page Via Rick, but mechanical tuning bookings need to be postponed until I can get back to Darwin. 03.01.2022 1KD Hilux engine strip down- 400000kms Amazing what regular servicing and injector reconditioning achieves. Bearings all in great condition, pistons and liners showing wear thats expected of those kms with a bit of glazing. One big eng bearing started to show a minor fracture but unfortunately forgot to take a a picture.

01.01.2022 Isuzu 4HK1-TC from a 2011 NPR Truck failed due to once again, injector/fuel system failure. Contaminated fuel got this one unfortunately. 3x melted pistons and a burnt valve from getting stuck open with piston material and continued driving. Unfortunately as I rebuilt it in Nhulunbuy under labour hire to Darky's Mechanical, I forgot to get pics of the damage but its sad to see such a bulletproof engine needing rebuilding 70000km into its life. But its back in action again and purring now.
