02.01.2022 I’ve got some exciting news to share with you this morning: Work is now officially underway on a major project that has been talked about for decades - Ocean Re...ef Marina. It’s an idea that was first floated in the 1970s and it was a key commitment that we made at the last election. Since then we’ve worked hard to get this project off the ground. And today I can also announce another exciting component of the project with plans now including Perth’s first coastal pool. The pool will be located within the protected beach area and will be available for locals and visitors to swim laps and to play aquatic sports This is a landmark project with big numbers attached to it in terms of jobs and investment. The first stage of works, which are now underway, involves ground works to facilitate the construction of Marina infrastructure and public amenities. Latest modelling shows it will result in an estimated $3 billion boost to the broader economy and create more than 8,000 construction jobs.
