25.01.2022 A safer bike helmet is on its way thanks to this startup

24.01.2022 Tony decided that he would like a new frame as he has cycled over 150,000k on his aluminium TESCHNER.

24.01.2022 The end of August saw the transition from my full time role as GM Bike Division at Titomic to a Project based role at Titomic. This transition will allow me time to relaunch TESCHNER Bikes and focus on what I do best..hand made custom bikes. A lot has happened over the last 7-8 years since I took a Sabbatical with 3D Additive Manufacturing adding a whole new dimension to bike customisation. I am a firm believer that not one material makes the perfect frame but a combinat...ion of 2 or more materials providing the perfect synergy. There will of course also be a full carbon hand made custom model available using material sourced from a high end tube manufacturer who currently manufactures product for aerospace applications. Tubing based on my own designs incorporating nanofibre veils allowing for improved impact resistance, reduced interlaminar fracture, improved composite fatigue life, improved flexural strength, enhanced resin toughness and reduced ply delamination will be available. The Nanofibre veils are amazingly light weighing up to only 3 grams per square metre. 3D Printing will allow me to bring to life a number of unique designs that would not have been feasible 7-10 years ago. A new www.teschner.bike website is under construction with launch date over the next 2 - 3 weeks. I will also be launching www.bikehausdesign.com.au shortly after which will provide a service not previously available enabling bike designs to be brought to life from prototype to production. This service will include 2D, 3D, FEA, CFD and Generative Design applications with prototype models and limited production models available in various mediums and processes. I am looking forward to working with both old and new customers.

24.01.2022 A big thank you to Dom at Dom's Diesel in Glen Innes for lending me his Generator. Wouldn't have able to do the repair without it.

24.01.2022 What a thrill, riding a Teschner 703TT around a F1 circuit.

23.01.2022 Got the news today that due to a slight oversight in February on my behalf teschnerbikes.com has been taken over by an Asian gambling site. The good news is that I actually registered teschner.bike in February. A new landing page will be up and running shortly.

21.01.2022 Having some of the most enjoyable times designing bikes and of course significant input into the bike building process. I get to work with some exceptionally gifted people who draw up what I dream up (thanks Dan in Glen Innes) and then 3D print in plastic what Is designed. Changes are easily made and parts reprinted to be reviewed again. The design will be put through a computational process called FEA (Finite Element Analysis) which places loads on the frame to work out the final wall thicknesses for spaying up and polishing. I remember years ago that Sean Eadie put 2600 watts thru one my the TESCHNER track frames.

21.01.2022 Hi Teschner Bike followers. It has been a long time since I have been active in the bike industry. After selling Teschner Bikes about 7 years ago it was returned to me about 3 years ago. I was not expecting this so I put all the stock in a shed and basically closed the door. Come forward to now. The news is that I have joined Titomic Ltd an additive manufacturing company in Melbourne as GM of their bicycle division. Titomic has patented a process of cold spraying titan...ium powder at 1000m a second. They are currently setting up a production line to manufacture monocoque titanium frames. The process only takes 30 minutes. Yes that is correct. A bicycle rim in 3 minutes. Of course you will ask about weight..... targeting under 600 grams for the frame. I commence on 5th Feb 18. Pricing is estimated to be competitive with carbon fibre. I will be at the TDU next Thur for the day with a few samples of the process. Recommend you go to their website to check out the info. Maybe a will catch up with a few people. What of TESCHNER Bikes. Have been working on a couple of full custom carbon.

21.01.2022 Another day in Melbourne with plenty happening. More work on the AM setup. This is the line for the 9m x 3m x 1.5m system. The bike line will be to the left but needed to get the major parts for this line in place first. When the Robot is in place I will post another photo.

19.01.2022 Can also repair farm machinery in my spare time!!! Quoted repair just for new RH & LH arms was $6000.00 plus labour.

19.01.2022 If anyone out there had any of the FUJI and MERCURY frames they can be distinguished pretty easily. The MERCURY frames had a frame sticker that said Handcrafted by Ti Sports Australia low on the seat tube and the Serial# on the bottom of the BB shell included the riders initials. The FUJI Team Issue frames whilst being made with the same tubing and forks had a sticker on the seat tube that said Handcrafted in Australia. If you have or find any of these frames let me know. I still have people who contact me wanting to know if I have any in the back shed!!!!

18.01.2022 Who can remember these frames???

17.01.2022 Visited the Australian Handmade Bike Show today. In awe of the quality, innovation and workmanship. Mostly welded steel and titanium with some impressive paint jobs by Steve and anodising by Liam. There were two manufacturers working in timber with the quality of the finished product pretty nice. But you could find it hard to choose between the "steel is real"and the material of the gods - titanium" devotees. Whatever your choice you would be proud to be seen out riding. I ...would really encourage anyone thinking of a new bike or for that matter wheels you need to put Australian made or at least an Australian Brand on the top of your list. I am not posting photos as I did not want to promote one brand above another. Put the Show on your must do or bucket list for next year. Peter

16.01.2022 Nathan, congrats from the TESCHNER team- 33rd out of 240 starters in Abu Dhabi Triathlon under a blistering sun - great performance - hope you liked your new 703 TT "terminator" !!

16.01.2022 Attended the Taichung Bike Week in late Sept. Been home a week. eBikes are being manufactured at an astonishing rate.. Lots of same design with different manufacturers of the electric motosr.... Bosch, Bose, Shimano etc. Over the next few years there will be a drive for drop in weight.. Noticed theses news articles whilst not new show a whole new class of racing. The European Cycling Union (UEC) is to add professional e-road and e-mountain bike races to its calendar fo...r 2019. Bicycling reports that the federation of pro cycling governing bodies announced the move at its annual meeting earlier this week. The circuit of races will be known as UEC Formula E-Bike. 15.01.2022 Back in Melbourne this afternoon for just over a week. Equipment has been arriving at the Factory with setup started. Simply mind blowing. When you consider that most additive manufacturing systems can fit onto a kitchen table and the Titomic bed is 9m x 3m x 1.5m!!! So you can imagine how big the setup around that is. Maybe some photos in a few days.

15.01.2022 From our test rider in Australia - on the SL10 : "I have to say I Love it! Handles and corners great, feels rock solid but not harsh. The frame shape looks great! " - First 550 size frames on their way to Belgium for hand painting !

14.01.2022 Hi everyone...I have been hacked. I am so sorry. Do not open any videos or links that appear. If anyone has a message that says Is this you...do not open.

14.01.2022 Another moment from the past. In 1995 the AIS, under Heiko started to order a few frames here and there. By 1996 Heiko ordered at least 10 Time Trial Frames (not sure of the exact number). Back then GIANT was the bike sponsor but we built the frames, painted them the AIS standard white colour and put GIANT on the down tube. At the same time I was sponsoring Nathan O'Neill. At the 1996 National Championships at Calga the first 10 places in the Men's ITT and places 2-5 in... the women were on these frames. Nathan actually won on the day. My first National Championship win. Kathy Watt won the women's event. After the women's ITT Kathy came over and we discussed a frame for her which started a couple of years of providing her a TT frameset. Even built her a TT frame where she was trialling the superman position. If I recall correctly it didn't work too well. I think weight positioning was a challenge with not enough over the front wheels and it proved to be too unstable. From then on we provided the TT frames to the AIS women's Team in conjunction with the TT bars designed and made by Darrell McCulloch (Llewellyn Bikes). My records show that from 1999 to 2005 the first 3 places in the National ITT were on these frames. I am trying to verify if in 2004 the first 10 places were filled with these frames. Someone could confirm for me. I was doing a bit of cleaning up a few weeks ago and found one of these frames as well as a set of Darrel's TT bars. Looking to build it up one day. Also have Nathan O'Neills 2000 Sydney Olympics ITT frame. Great memories!!!

13.01.2022 Fixed my blocked posts I wondered where everybody had been! This is good to know: It's ridiculous to have 450 friends and only 25 are allowed to see my post. I ignored this post earlier, because I didnt think it worked. It WORKS!! I have a whole new news feed. Im seeing posts from people I havent seen in years. Heres how to bypass the system FB now has in place that limits posts on your news feed. ... Their new algorithm chooses the same few people - about 25 - who will read your posts. Therefore, Hold your finger down anywhere in this post and "copy" will pop up. Click "copy". Then go your page, start a new post and put your finger anywhere in the blank field. "Paste" will pop up and click paste. This will bypass the system. See more

13.01.2022 We're back! We will start work on a new website soon. In the meantime, we have 703 Track, TT and Tri frames in 4 sizes and SL10 frames in 6 sizes.

13.01.2022 I have wanted to keep the TESCHNER brand iconic with product manufactured in Australia. Hence I have been resetting up a custom build program for a number of months. There are a number of interations with carbon, titanium and yes I have still some EASTON Sc7000 Scandium tubesets in stock. Great for a Gravel bike. As part of the process of getting back into the bike industry I have also created a new brand BONACCI. I took inspiration from a famed mathematician named Fibon...acci. Worth looking up but essentially nature is based on his theory. There is a lot of maths in designing a great handling bike so I looked at the connection between nature and maths and created BONACCI. I undertook a lot of research and spoke to many of my past colleagues in the Bike Industry to see who it was who made the best Open Mold frames. There were 2-3 but chose one that makes frames for three really well known and respected US and European brands. A website is being build in January but to start with i have attached some photos of a BONACCI bike. . I will be able to supply as either a frame or a complete bike. To be very honest some product I will be able to supply within 1-3 weeks others a bit longer. But I am confident that you will like the range. You can also have custom paint jobs done by my great painter in Coffs Harbour. Turn around 4-6 weeks. I will give you an estimate at time of enquiry. This BONACCI bike is in fact one of about 7 frames that were made as the new SL10TESCHNER model. It is a 550 top tube with 10Speed Ultegra group set and Fulcrum Racing 3 with 2way fit. This bike is for sale at $2995.00. No miles on the clock at all. As you can see BONACCI is in the same TESCHNER don't. The SL10 was designed by me and I still own the molds. I am hoping my loyal customers and hollers will embrace this new venture. I will continue to work for TITOMIC travelling there on an FIFO basis week around. So there will now be a choice of both Custom and Production and yes Disc Brake will be available in both. Also exploring a good Track frame range. I wish everyone a great 2019 and that as you set your goals for the next 12 months a new ride from the TESCHNER - BONACCI Stable will be considered. Peter

12.01.2022 I have been noting some chatter on various postings about Titomic's Kinetic Fusion process. Some have been partially correct and others a long way off. In very basic terms the Patent says... Make a scaffold (which is the load bearing structure) and spray it with titanium powder accelerated at 1000m a sec. The scaffold can be left in or removed. Obviously removing the skeleton makes the final product lighter. The scaffold has to be the same shape as you intend the final... product. So in the case of a monocoque bike frame start with the same shape. Think of it as a clam shell mold in reverse. A clam shell mold you put the carbon fibre in to get the final shape. We start with a positive shape and spray over it. This is not to be confused with what most understand is additive manufacturing (AM) where you start with a blank surface and build up from that. In this case Titomic is building the world's largest table at 9m x 3m x 1.5m. Most AM systems are a small bed no bigger than say 500mm x 500mm x 300mm that uses heat and and an oxygen free environment to work with Titanium. Titomic does not use heat and can operate in a oxygen environment. It is basically the speed of the deposition that is the principle. Hope that helps. Peter .

10.01.2022 I am amazed and most humbled by the reaction to my post yesterday afternoon. Thank you for your tremendous support to my decision to come back into the bike industry. The post has been viewed over 2800 times from people all the way around the globe. In coming back I was aware that for some this was the opportunity to share photos and comments about their bikes but for others it was an opportunity to ask about warrant issues. The challenge I face is that I sold TESCHNER 7 ...years ago and in the main it was moved to Europe. I will endeavour do help where I can however it may not be possible to satisfy everyone. I simply do not have stock or parts or the equipment and current process to resolve all issues. Continue to send your enquiries. I am aware that for some Ii maybe able to help and for others I will disappoint and a number of negative postings will be the result. I have to accept that as an outcome as a result of my return. I apologise if you are one of those that I am unable to assist. TESCHNER kg still a great product and I am committed to help where I can. May 2018 be a great year. See more

09.01.2022 Well my first full day at Titomic after a delayed flight. Just got back from a meeting at CSIRO. Seems all is running to plan and timelines with the Nitrogen supply all in place. The tank is about 7m high. The Nitrogen is the accelerant for the Titanium that propels the powder at 1000m a second. I am going to make sure the hands are out of the way before the tap is turned on!!!

09.01.2022 Recently many of our sponsored athletes scored important victories on their 703TT - see the pictures ! congrats again gusy & girls - you make us proud !

08.01.2022 I am building a full custom carbon for a very patient client in Sydney. Finally received my Ti6/4 dropouts last Friday morning. First pair were not quite right and the weight was not what I was looking for. I like bigger designed dropouts as compared to the smaller designs. Yes a slight increase in weight but when a complete set with swivel joints is only 92grams I am more than happy. In fact the hanger insert in Ti6/4 is the same 11grams as an aluminium one. Photos attached. Merry Christmas...Peter

06.01.2022 Oh.... Did you see the Titomic share price listed at 20c in Sept and now trading at $1.41.

05.01.2022 July 2019 marks 20 years since TESCHNER bikes transitioned to a full time business with a contract with FUJI USA and building the MERCURY USA Pro Team frames.. Frames were made for the following riders with Australian Baden Cooke and Henk Vogels in the list. Henk went on to win the first Union USPRO Championships in 1999.on an Sc7000 frame. Léon van Bon (2001) Baden Cooke (20002001) Fabrizio Guidi (2001)... Chris Horner (19921996, 19982001) Jans Koerts (2001) Floyd Landis (19992001) Peter Van Petegem (2001) Thurlow Rogers (19922002) Pavel Tonkov (2001) Jonathan Vaughters (1997) Henk Vogels (20002002) Steve Zampieri (2000) Gord Fraser (19982002) Levi Leipheimer (1997) Derek Bouchard-Hall (19992002) Mike Sayers (19982002) John Peters (19942000) David Clinger (19931999) Will Frischkorn (20002002) Rahsaan Bahati (20002002) Scott Moninger (19992002) Chris Wherry (2001 - 2002) I have to thank the other members of the Team that worked on these frames - Mal McPherson on the Gold Coast and Ken Finn in Coffs Harbour. In all we built over 200 frames for Mercury and another 300* Team Issue FUJI frames for the US market. I can remember packing the first frames on the lawn in the backyard in Coffs Harbour into windscreen boxes to ship. It took another 3 months before moving into my first she'd. 20 years almost seems like yesterday. I wonder what the next 20 years will bring????

04.01.2022 Back in Melbourne on Monday for the week. This arrangement will happen every alternate week from now on. One week Glen Innes one week Melbourne. One of the best parts is I get to see our daughter Jordanah's every weekend on the Gold Coast. Flights are generally $400 cheaper than from Armidale and are direct. Can you believe that out of Armidale to Melbourne return is around $800. Appalling rip off by QANTAS and of course usually delayed.

03.01.2022 Back from Euro Bike. A big thanks to the following companies that assisted us on getting there: ROTOR for the UNO Groupset and Stem and Group Sportif (Dan) for building up the bike with parts. The wheel set (1020 grams) based on TUNE Hubs and Reynolds carbon rims and DT Swiss spokes. Thanks to Craftworkx (Bris) for the wheel build.

02.01.2022 I fly to Melbourne on Monday to start with Titomic. Some of the staff are in Singapore at Titanium Asia 2018. An extract from their website; - ITA is the global trade association of the world's primary titanium metal producers who together account for over 90% of worldwide titanium production.... ITA provides a forum for the exchange of ideas within the industry and educates the public on every aspect of using titanium metal within their design. From life cycle costing to welding; from metallography to metallurgy, ITA offers literature, webinars and in person instruction on all aspects of education. ITA is considered the center of excellence for all information on titanium metal and currently hosts over 200 member organizations representing North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Looking forward to see what news and ideas Jeff and the Team bring back.

01.01.2022 Sitting in an amazing and very affordable Art Deco Air BnB in East St Kilda thinking that in 3 weeks time I start an exciting journey that I did not even know about 3 months ago. So far I have been to Taichung bike show, Sth Australia for a round table discussion with the SA State Govt and industry about making SA a great cycling and innovative bike state, Melbourne 4 times SA again next week to the TDU Pro Village for another Industry workshop Meeting and Networking. It is SO good to be back amongst friends colleagues passionate TESCHNER and bike followers. Than you TITOMIC. I will be in Melbourne from 5th Feb and start some daily postings. BTW if you would like to know about the apartment we are in let me know....you wouldn't be disappointed. The hosts are amazing. Peter
