21.01.2022 This week we have focused on the scenario of Sylvia working in an office, caught in the web of working harder than other colleagues and this is unfortunately a typical situation for many women during menopause. In the case of office work we can very easily find ourselves working late to try to meet unrealistic expectations of management and/or our employers. It's the old adage of the more you do the more you can do. No matter what the occupation, we can easily find ourselves ...trapped in a cycle of overworking and poor self-management. Next week we will take a look at how Sylvia's lack of self-care is affecting her relationships. Our health during menopause is very important and we do ourselves no favours at all by 'pushing past it' and doing too much. Stop! It's not worth it. 20.01.2022 Stress levels during menopause can very easily hit the roof. We can find ourselves not knowing what to do next and which way to turn. One of the biggest problems when it comes to our health during menopause is losing sight of our boundaries. The problem with that is this - when we lose sight of our boundaries we have no stop button. It's like we are on a treadmill and cannot get off. So, what happens then? Well, we can very easily find ourselves pushing physically and emotion...ally further and further, believing that everyone around us expects us to work harder and faster than our younger female and/or male work colleagues. Or perhaps the stress levels are happening in our personal lives. How do we fix this? Stay tuned for our next two weeks focus as Pauline shares with Sylvia what she has learned about re-establishing boundaries. It's time to get serious and take action. Follow Tess on Menopause to learn some useful tips on managing stress and managing menopause. Tomorrow we look at step 1 in re-establishing our boundaries - without upsetting everyone in our lives. We want their support not their resentment. #menopausestress #perimenopause #womenshealth #timetotalk #menopausemarriage #menopauserelationships #perimenopause #stressincontinence

11.01.2022 Is there any worse feeling than dragging ourselves out of bed and 'pushing past it' for just one more day? Especially when it goes on and on and on... #menopausestress #menopausetiredness #menopausesupport... #perimenopause See more

08.01.2022 Menopause affects the whole family in lots of different ways. We can tend to push everyone away at a time when we need them the most. So, re-establishing boundaries gives us a great opportunity to gather those nearest and dearest around us and talk about how we are travelling through our menopause chapter. One of the best things I ever did was to call a 'family meeting' and sit down with everyone to discuss the struggle I was experiencing. Up to that point no-one was aware of... the strain and stress I was living under. It's easy to get angry and teary when we don't feel listened to, but all that does is alienate those closest to us. When it comes to re-aligning our boundaries, one of the very best places to start is with our family. #menopausesupport #menopausestress #menopauseandfamily #menopausehealth #womenshealth #perimenopause #menopauseboundaries

04.01.2022 It is the most wonderful moment in time when we realise that our boundaries belong to us. We determine what we do in life. Yes, there are extenuating circumstances, trials, tribulations and very tough days but we need a blue print to manage our menopause. Determining where our boundaries lie is one of the most important steps we can take to bring back order into our lives. To stop the late nights at work, possibly picking up dinner on the way home too. Ask me how I know...? W...e do no-one any favours at all when we neglect to manage our stress levels and determine where our boundaries start and finish. #menopauseboundaries #menopausesupport #menopauseanswers #naturalmenopause #bettermenopause #perimenopause #tellitlikeitis
