08.01.2022 Our Melbourne store is re-opening on Wednesday 28th October! While the city gets back on its feet, our temporary trading hours are Monday to Saturday 11am-4pm. We’ll remain closed on Sundays until further notice. Heartfelt and heart-FULL thanks to all our customers and friends who’ve continued to support and shop with us online & over the phone since we’ve been closed. 03.01.2022 **UPDATE...and WOW!!** Thanks for the incredible response to both this post and our latest email. We have now SOLD OUT of both colourways but the good news is you can still support Ikuntji Artists by purchasing the fabric directly from their website https://ikuntji.com.au/gallery/fabrics/ . . Our latest arrivals include this incredible print from Ikuntji Artists Mitjili Napurrula. The design depicts her father’s Tjukurrpa, the ceremonial spear straightening in Uwalkari count...ry (Gibson desert region). The Watiya Tjuta (Acacia Trees) are the trees used to make these spears and Mitjili paints the motif of the Watiya Tjuta, carrying on the recurring motif as her mother used to draw in the sand. Her mother passed on this Dreaming to her. The fabric is a 70% tencel 30% linen blend and is hand screen printed by Publisher Textiles & Papers. It’s available in two colourways - white on black and black on white. The shirt pattern is a design we’re currently sampling as a potential pattern and we’d love to know your thoughts.
