12.01.2022 I have to state up front that this was not one of my clients: I recently came across an electrical extension lead laying on the ground and immediately noticed something was not rite. Yes it had a current in date tag attached and dated correctly. It had a name and phone number (I assume it was the owners) but no identification about who tested and tagged it. That information was missing. At a quick glance I noticed 2 other tags attached that had slid along the lead to the othe...r end. These tags were old and the information on them was faded due to age. The socket on the end of the lead had pulled out of the molding and had exposed the inner coloured cores from the outer sheath. You could tell it hadn't happened recently and it was old damage still someone had put a current in date tag on it Unfortunately I was not quick enough to get a photo as proof Obviously a visual inspection has not been done (old tags not removed and damage to end of socket) - has to be repaired and retested before it can be tagged Or someone is just buying and swapping tags themselves to save a couple of dollars Be aware electricity is invisible and can and will kill you if the electrical equipment is not checked and verified Testing and Tagging Solutions can check this and verify that your electrical appliances are safe to use
