We are thrilled to be supporting Youturn in their mission to build Tiny Homes on the Sunshine Coast for our young people who have experienced homelessness and are transitioning from crisis accommodation to independent living. ... With natural disasters and the effects of COVID-19 impacting businesses, unemployment and health concerns, it has left our local community vulnerable and at risk of homelessness (in particularly our youth) "Just because you don’t see people sleeping rough in our streets doesn’t mean our local community is immune to the problem". We will be joining forces with the staff and volunteers from YouTurn to help raise funds on #worldhomelessness day at our Tewantin Community Branch. We have worked very closely with the RSL over the years and have seen the dedication, passion and time that their staff, members, guests and volunteers put in each and every day to make it the community club it is today! The walk is part of the 16 days of activism campaign to raise awareness of domestic violence and challenge discriminatory attitudes. Hundreds of people including our beloved Tewantin locals, Noosa Council, police, support agencies, other district members, Youturn and the general public a...ll walked along the Noosa River to help raise awareness and to say NO to violence!
