25.01.2022 4C Scientists in action, playing a game called "Whack it Out!" Using a cup, paper plate, cardboard cylinder and a ping pong game, students had to investigate how to get the ping pong ball into the plastic cup without using their hands. All the equipment had to be used. The time limit was 60 seconds. It was a great, fun way to start our study pf Forces.

22.01.2022 This morning our Year 1 classes had the opportunity to visit the local refuge recovery centre - the Tip! Noosa Council supplied the bus and our Sustainability Project Officer - Emma, discussed landfill and waste management with our students. The kids had a great time but tell us it's 'a bit stinky' at the tip!
22.01.2022 Some photos from the Year 4 Convict Day yesterday. As you can see, there were some very impressive costumes worn to enhance students’ presentations for their English assessment. We also got to sample kangaroo, salted beef, damper and sauerkraut. Yum! The paper chain and balloon ball game was lots of fun, proving that teamwork was essential if you were to make it all the way to Furner Oval before your paper chain broke or your balloon burst!

16.01.2022 The Science adventure continued in 4C with another investigation carried out by students to simulate weathering. After going on a scavenger hunt around the grounds for small rocks, students were given a small container with a lid and a sugar cube. A couple of rocks were also added before the container was shook vigorously for a while. Students were able to observe that the sugar cube was "weathered" or broken down in size and shape by the action of the other rocks. We discussed how in nature this process occurs over thousands of years. Next week, we will be investigating erosion by building sandcastles. Science is fun in 4C!
