25.01.2022 Chinese Painting: Still some places left for next weekends workshop in Texas Sat 20th & Sun 21st August. No previous experience required, class is great for both complete beginners and previous participants. You dont need to be able to draw or paint to have fun in this workshop. All materials supplied, just bring your own lunch.

15.01.2022 Facing West, Michele Hollisters exhibition of glass art has opened at the Texas Regional Art Gallery. Micheles background in the visual arts combined with over 20 years experience working in the leadlighting industry has provided her with the knowledge and skill to put together this impressive body of work. Her aim is to capture the beauty so easily overlooked in both familiar nature and commonplace objects. A selection of glass art platters, bowls, glass and silver neckl...aces as well as buckles, and leather belts are on display. Definitely worth a visit to the Gallery. All the pieces are available to purchase. The exhibition will be open until 18 January, 2019.

12.01.2022 MERVYN MORIARTY IN TEXAS Texas Regional Art Gallery has been lucky enough to host an exhibition and workshop by well known artist Mervyn Moriarty. Colour II: Merv Moriarty, In the Field is a touring exhibition of recent works by Mervyn, an artist, art educator and founder of Flying Arts. This exhibition is currently on show at the Gallery until 1st March 2019. There are two special events connected to this exhibition:... 1. Mervyn is giving an artists talk at the Gallery at 1pm, Saturday 23rd February. There will be a light lunch provided and there is no charge to attend. 2. Mervyn is also holding a Masterclass: Colour Relationship & Your Subject on Sunday 24th February at the Texas Golf Club, the cost to attend is $30.

08.01.2022 A late schedule change has enabled the Texas Regional Art Gallery to present a vibrant and interesting exhibition from Brisbane artist, Noel Miller. Noel is an artist and tutor with experience in the areas of landscape painting, mixed media on canvas, print making and drawing. Noel is also resident artist at the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve on Cape York. Please note that the advertised The Truth About Wool by Chantel McMaster has been cancelled.

07.01.2022 We are very pleased to announce the upcoming Chinese Art workshop in Texas. Xiang Lan, the tutor, is an Associate Professor of English in Xihua University, she teaches courses in Australian Studies and Australia Society and Culture. Her research interests are in Australian literature and art. She has published more than 20 essays on literature in journals. Her recent published monograph is Study on the Tradition and Evolution of Australian Eco-literature, and she is the... co-writer of The History of Australian Female Novels. She is also an artist, accomplished at Chinese brush painting of flowers, birds and landscapes, a member of Sichuan Province Art Association, a fellow member of Chengdu Art Association and Pengzhou Art Association. She has given lectures on Chinese painting at the University of Queensland and has tutored workshops at art galleries in Australia. See more

03.01.2022 Announcing the latest Texas Regional Art Gallerys exhibition: Travels in Art. Opening Tuesday 9th July, this is a shared show from Barbara and Neville Logan. Neville is a watercolourist, primarily painting townscapes, street and harbour scenes using his extensive travels to enrich his work. Barbaras work is a rather unique form of fabric collage using acrylic paints on cotton fabric.
