25.01.2022 The last of my Mary Kathleen Qld photos before I was finally able to head more Easterly a few days ago. With clouds the place makes for beautiful sunsets

21.01.2022 Last night's sunset at Upside Downs Farming

20.01.2022 Cloncurry Qld where I stayed once again at the very nice Oasis c'van park and met the beautiful Stormy. They don't do greasy spoon type takeaways in the town, so they can keep Macca's and others out apparently, but the pubs do great meals. They also do great sunsets!

19.01.2022 Something a little different today as I've been stuck in Hughenden I've been visiting the local dinosaur daily over several days, who was damaged by fire, and watching a Palaeontologist and sculptor repair him! The fire happened at the same spot where the recently relocated dinosaur is now but when he was across the road he got very badly scorched when the hotel that was there burnt down some time ago. The blue building you can see across the road in some shots is the local h...ardware store and it's windows melted from the heat, so it was pretty intense. Paul, also recently repaired and repainted Kris, the giant crocodile sculpture in Normanton Qld. You might remember my photos I posted when I went through there :) The process was, A pretty complete coating of a poly type filler, a primer coat (that I missed), then an undercoat of white, then the yellowish base coat and then the final painting of the bodies markings. Where you see Paul on the ladder, he's up there because he forgot to remove the masking tape from the newly installed glass eyes he replaced the old plastic ones with haha. He's off to Richmond next to repair one of the dinosaurs there, and hopefully the second one too if they accept his quote, So if you need a sculpture repaired of your local dinosaur I think Paul's your man!

19.01.2022 A big bug I came across in my campsite that I found interesting :)

18.01.2022 Photos from the last couple of days of wandering around Leyburn Qld and back and forth to Toowoomba. I don't think I've ever seen a sunflower in person before, how odd :)

18.01.2022 Just a couple of shots near Tenterfield, first of which is the memorial for the crew of the F111 that crashed there in 1987. The second is the view from the Mt Mackenzie lookout, looking out across Tenterfield.

17.01.2022 In and near the Byfield National Park Qld. The last photo is of the sandy track trying, and failing because of overheating fears, to get up Big Sandy. So that's as far as I actually got into the NP :)

17.01.2022 Just a smidge more of Hughenden Qld, didn't realise I'd missed the driver reviver rest stop murals, so here they are. Should be one more post soon(ish) and then I can just finish melting in this 35C warmth today, phew doggie. this post brought to you by the letter M, for the Moron whose sign placement makes art appeciation slightly more difficult haha

16.01.2022 Julia Creek Qld where they have a couple of very nice art murals and a comprehensive war memorial.

15.01.2022 Red-tailed Black-Cockatoos in the pine trees at my campsite at Red Rock camp site near Byfield Qld. The photos aren't as clear as I'd like as they were about 40metres up these massive pine trees so I had to do some extreme editing. The males have the red tail and the females have the yellow spotted tails. The last photo is what they were doing to the pine cones, they were dropping everywhere around me :)

13.01.2022 The little twin towns on the border of Jennings (Qld) and Wallangarra (NSW) as you head between Stanthorpe Qld and Tenterfield NSW. The border art trailnset, Hotel Jennigs and public toilet art. These are the final set for today :)

10.01.2022 I love these little guys and their juvenile at the van park in Hughenden. Watching bubs being fed was awesome, though I think mum(dad?) is getting fed up with all the whinging haha. Some of my favourite photos recently. The last photo is a little jackdaw and I'm not sure if that's a stick for nest building or a piece of pasta someone left behind.

09.01.2022 The criminals back in the day knew how to find great hideouts with running water. Thunderbolt Hideout and the WWII tank traps along Mount Lindesay Rd, Tenterfield NSW.

04.01.2022 The old abandoned railway bridge at Tenterfield Creek, just outside of Tenterfield. The beautiful butterfly was flitting around all of the nettle flowers next to the bridge.

03.01.2022 And this final post for today brings me into Hughenden Qld, the place I tried to leave yesterday. Sadly on the way across towards the coast yesterday, 70 kms out, a shockie on my camper trailer sheared the eyelet off and the coil spring and hats all jumped out along the way. I retraced my entire route, which included a "tourist drive" to try and find them but to no avail. Luckily no other damage was done, it's just sitting extremely low on one side on the bump stops and doesn...'t rub the tyre, yay! The company who makes my suspension is in Geebung Qld luckily, Cruisemaster, but unluckily they closed early on Friday so I have to wait until Monday before being able to even order the parts I need, sigh. So I'm staying at the council owned, and cheap, caravan park playing the waiting game haha. So here are some photos from around here with more to come as soon as I get finished uploading and back out there to see the sights.

03.01.2022 Hi everyone, would you all mind considering making a large or small donation for my wildlife carer friend Sharon. She works non-stop caring for our wildlife and is an amazing woman. Please help :)

01.01.2022 Photos from Stanthorpe Qld before heading further south the next day. The art is on the public toilet at a little park just down from the van park I stayed at towards town. The thermometer is the daytime shot and I'm reposting the night shot I got of it. And then there's the man made pyramid just outside Stanthorpe. I didn't get to the natural rock formation called the same in Girraween NP :)
